Chapter 1
Forest Wandering
Somewhere in the woods, there are several secrets that lies inside the forest, in the world of Dibamlin. Then, A young man named "Bordis" was wandering around without spoiling anything in his way from his town. While he was venturing out in the open forest and as soon as he inhaled, he saw a shimmering stone laying on the soil floor. He was feeling unsure to inspect the stone. With his desire, he walked towards to inspect the stone and realize it wasn't just an ordinary stone. As time has passed, his admiration of looking at the stone was a full distraction and something was already waiting to strike. With that moment, A group of Purple Gelatinous Goo ambushed Bordis with force. After swarming him, one goo makes a splat noise as it was an order by carrying Bordis off the cliff. After the swarm of goo pick him up, the cliff was just a few distance away and once he slowly opened his eyes, he panicked but his body was paralyzed and the goo pack threw him off the cliff. He was screaming while falling down and fortunately after the mean fall, Bordis wasn't severely injured. When he got back up, he looked really confused with his surroundings and himself, wondering what just happened and why did a horde of purple goo blobs attack him. With the gut in his feeling, he feels unsafe to be in the forest and tries to seek the way out. As the sun reached around noon, he still couldn't find the way out and the current environment he's in. he looked every detail as he has forgotten the way he came. With an instant, there was another ambush by another goo horde. As soon as he noticed, the swarm of goo already had a good kick and this time they left Bordis injured alone. When he got back up, he was upset and confused by why the goo swarm keep on staggering him. With no more being an easy target, he then thought needed a weapon to defend himself and from his corner of his eye, he saw something. He found some junk that might be good for defending himself. And when he gets closer and acquire the junks, he found a broken slingshot and a crude club. While holding the junks he obtained, he remembers his father's craftsmanship skill. He could repair the broken slingshot to a sturdy slingshot and the crude club shaped into a better club. After crafting the mended weapons, he then practiced himself for combat. After some few attempts, he finally can defend himself from mere danger and feels like a youthful hero, although he wished to have a proper training education. During the afternoon, he tries to find the goo pack that hurt him. Meanwhile, the cheeky goo pack were having a splashy party on stolen valuables from unknown rightful owners. When Bordis found the goo pack dazzling and jumping around the valuables, he has the perfect time to strike back. He loads a pebble into the pad, pulled at the same time while holding the handle of the slingshot with steady pace. Then released the pad as it flies towards one of the goo with a great knockout. As the rest of the goo pack witnessed their pal decaying to a pool of goop, they were shouted by Bordis who they previously ambushed him. The goo pack burst into rage and charge towards him. When Bordis saw the goo pack hopping angrily right at him, he fiercely slammed and shoot the goo swarm down. But the goo swarm are agile and manage to gain advantages, but Bordis focused his attacks on the right time which sent the goo swarm to their graves. After the fight, he realized he conquered over the goo swarm and had won victory. When his own thoughts thinking after prevailing over the goo swarm, he felt a bold passion to venture through the forest as it is his only option for the beginning of his journey without even thinking twice before as he proceeds to move forward with a surge of determination.
Chapter 2
The beginning of the adventure.
When the sun sets the evening, Bordis has gone path to path alone. He wonders the goo's physical abilities aren't tamed but also had been trained at the same time. He hopes he has come prepare for another ambush but Suddenly, He heard a soft thud behind the bush. When Bordis approach with caution, he saw an alive figure being trampled and stomped by the goo pack. With his surge, he picked them off lethally and eventually scaring them away. The rest of the untargeted goo pack looked horrified; therefore, they ran away with fear. After saving the figure, he didn't realize it wasn't a human but a humanoid creature with a skin of a thick hay bale. When the figure got up and makes eye contact with Bordis, Bordis screamed in terror while trying to shoot at the figure with his slingshot. The humanoid figure tries to settle him but as he goes closer to Bordis. Bordis pulled at the right shot and POW... straight to the figure's head. As a result, he hits the figure down to his knees and without realizing, he apologizes to it because he thought it was a threat. When the figure got back up confused, he awkwardly thanks Bordis for saving him and asked who he is. When Bordis responds, he realized he still forgot who his full name is and how he got here after the fall. When the figure understood, he immediately glared at Bordis’ arsenal. Bordis asked why is he looking at his weapons. The figure was curious on how he made it and practiced it smoothly. He said he has learned how to train and mend by his father and he slightly remember that his father hasn't come home since yet, only to remember his father's craftsmanship and tips. The figure was surprised and interested that Bordis might be an actual proud person. The humanoid figure briefly forgot to introduced himself and immediately named him as the Lieutenant Superior named "Carter Fouchier" the Crop Superior of the "de crop es gang". After knowing Bordis clearly saved his life from the goo pack, he offered Bordis to joined him to his party, to embark a long adventure to save the powerful delicate gems called Cliro gems by the hands from an evil order and legions commanded by an Evil Mastermind who's willing to take over Dibamlin. He even asked Bordis to be his sidekick. Bordis politely excused himself to thought about it carefully as he also tries to find his missing father. He couldn’t reject the offer as it can lead to a terrible choice. Besides, he saved Carter’s life from an ambush by a goo pack and after thinking of Carter's offering, he agreed to joined to his party. Carter was relieved to have a sidekick on his party as he holds Bordis like a proud son. But then, they both realized the sun was going down. Immediately, Carter asked Bordis to follow him to his secret base camp. He could provide Bordis a great training education. Bordis nods his head and eventually, he came along with him. While Bordis and Carter were going to Carter’s hideout, Carter asked several questions along the way.
Sir Carter
“So Bordis, I may like to ask a couple of questions if that doesn’t bother you”
Bordis
“Sure Carter, go ahead”
Sir Carter
“Call me Sir Carter, it is very rude to not respect the elders”
“Anyway, where did you actually originally come from?”
Bordis
“Well… if I remember… I came from a town but I don’t remember the name”
Sir Carter
“Alright… Could you tell me anything about your father and how long has your father been missing?”
Bordis
“Well… he has black hair, has a facial hair of a burdensome man, he is a kind of logger who is resilient and knows really well about his surroundings… and for how long has he been missing… Umm… Maybe around two weeks of his investigation”
Bordis
“Also, may I ask some questions as well?”
Sir Carter
“Absolutely, young man”
Bordis
“Why is your skin made up of hay bales?”
Sir Carter
“You see… it’s not covered up… it’s a curse”
Bordis
Bordis gasped
“A curse?!”
Sir Carter
“Yeah… I was once human before… until I was cursed by a wicked and dastard cultist… It made my body weak and unhealthy… However, I managed to continue on as a slow decaying leader
Bordis
“A decaying leader?... do you lead some kind of army?”
Sir Carter
“Yeah buster… Afterall, I am known as Crop Superior who led an army of gang members… together, we train each other, we raid together and we hunt altogether”
Bordis
“Wow… impressive… oh yeah, speaking of armies, who is the Evil Mastermind and his wicked army?”
Sir Carter
“I expect a question like that boy… the Evil Mastermind is a malevolent genius who commands a bunch of secret variety of troops and mastered ancient spells and over-advanced weaponry that no one can be trained to use them”
“He isn’t any other malicious brainiac sonny boy… he is a master of manipulation… his trickery can easily fool anyone and his unidentified and dangerous army expands faster mysteriously… some says the ones who got fooled turned into his minions”
“Legends says he was just a clever student who fall into the depths of rancor, seeking vengeance the worst way possible”
Bordis
“Oh gosh… does anyone know what does he look like?”
Sir Carter
“Surprisingly… after he seeks for his vengeance, his identity fades away… no one knows where he had gone but several reveals he abandon society and live his own life… due to his highly resilient instinct, he can handle anything own his by himself”
Carter then remembers something
“Oh, and one more thing… those who saw his true identity had their chances of survival cut from slim to none to practically death sentences… meaning no one saw his true nature”
“And now… he warns everyone that Dibamlin is no longer a place to exist with an oddly familiar phenomenon covering the skies that happened few weeks ago”
“This leads to wars of some abnormal specimens to fight other specimen and humans like use… well, for me not”
“I am unsure how the Evil Mastermind release the phenomenon… he might already be harnessing the ancient spells”
“This concludes why I want to recruit you to my own Party”
Bordis
“Okay but… if you’re starting a new party team, why don’t you bring along your army sir?”
Sir Carter
“I can’t offer more manpower into my army son… Other gang leaders have attempted to ambush me from an unforeseen strike… There’s one time I was once ambushed by one of the highest gang leaders in Dibamlin but with the stroke of luck… I barely escaped with my life along with my gang as well”
“That’s because I don’t want to lose my army drastically quick due to infantry crisis kickin’ the consequences”
Bordis sighed
Bordis
“Alright”
Bordis wondered
Bordis
“If the Evil Mastermind is out to threaten Dibamlin… what are Cliro gems?”
Sir Carter
“Huh?... you’re not familiar what is a Cliro gem?... well, they are ancient and unbreakable artifacts that had roamed longer than I was born… these gems would vitalize everyone in Dibamlin to arise their passion to make them stronger”
“And apparently… they have been roaming for so long they vanished out of existence… however… according to the stellar constellation… they still roam around but… due to its nocturnal appearance… it’s difficult to find where it’s exactly position”
“Also… I was wandering if you have other objectives that is similar for your search of your missing father?”
Bordis
“Actually… I want to support my family away from the deepest feelings of sorrow”
“Which is what my father prioritizes the most… after…”
Bordis mumbled with a discourage tone
“My mother went missing first”
Carter then flinched with a shock after hearing something about his mother
Sir Carter
“Your mother is missing too?!”
Bordis
“Yeah… which I somehow remember that she went missing in the first place”
“She has been gone for even a longer period of time”
Carter took a deep breath and empathized Bordis
Sir Carter
“Listen Bordis… someday, I believed you will find both your father and mother together if you can believe in yourself… don’t underestimate yourself from others to prove you wrong”
Bordis
“Yes Sir”
After time of having a long conversation while travelling, they both finally arrived at the base camp. When Bordis enter the base camp for the first time, he was surprised by its massive atmosphere. Carter gave Bordis a short tour. He explained every room of its own kind and what stores in inside. Bordis noticed a heavily guarded room with supreme guards guarding with heavy duty. He asked what's in that room that's being guarded. Carter says it's the Special Treasure Bank and no one under the rank of intellectual generals are prohibited to enter the room for any reason. But for now, Carter and Bordis just leave it be and showed Bordis his resting room. The room quality was bland but the bed was comfy as he made his way to his bed and before Carter leaves, he almost forgot to tell Bordis that tomorrow is going to be a training day where all the gang members and troops will be training almost all day for an entire week. When Bordis understood, Carter left while saying good night. While in bed, Bordis was thinking all types of training education that could happen but also heard Carter said there were gang members. Bordis feels unsure about tomorrow’s training but he shrugs off and went to his nice comfortable rest.
Chapter 3
Training day
It was the next day, Bordis was still asleep until a loud blowhorn was heard across the corridors. Every gang member and troops got up along with Bordis. When he checked outside, there is another Humanoid with the skin of a hay bale while shouting everyone to get up. As the humanoid continues, he saw Bordis looking concerned and ask who is he and how did he got recruited. Bordis told his name and explain that he is Carter's sidekick and trusted to save the Cliro Gems, he also questioned who he is. The humanoid introduces himself as Sir Chandler, The Crop Sergeant and he scoff to Bordis he doesn't look capable to save the Cliro gems. Bordis hardly explains his words even more understandable but Chandler didn't let him proceed. When they both lightly arguing, Carter showed up. He asked what was going on here and before Bordis could speak, Chandler immediately spoke out with no hesitation asking Bordis isn't capable to be a sidekick. Carter tells him that he can. He said to Chandler was just thinking Bordis isn't confident enough and judges his look by his cover. When Chandler understood, he was silenced and proceed to move on. Carter later then took Bordis to the barracks. Before the first schedule start, Carter gave Bordis a new tunic for him to joined the gang. While Carter waited for Bordis to change, he came out with a completely new style. Carter told Bordis to follow him to the first session. During the first session, Bordis isn't tense however he gained some simple basics of combat knowledge. Capable of running in a brisk pace, counter an attack, and manage his stamina well. After the session ends, Bordis was on break and decided to talk to one of his comrades. He asked a warrior what do they know about Carter. The warrior refused to explained and walked away. Bordis then looked confused and asked another person. This time an archer tells Bordis that Carter has a secret that is hilarious and said he loves sleeping with pink monkey socks. Bordis giggled silently and proceed to talk to another person. He met a lanky thief and asked the same question, he whispered Carter nearly ended Chandler’s life while he is drunk with his mallet. Bordis’ face changed, he expected something funny until it went to a gruesome twist. After his break ends, he went back to learn the second session. Carter taught more advanced training in weaponry. Bordis is getting more a hand of it by using three stone in one shot, smashes heavily and carefully with his club, and release his inner surge of his determination. As the day ends, Bordis went to his resting room to prepare for tomorrow. The next day, Carter taught Bordis how to defeat his enemies by learning their attack moves while also telling stories about how he defeated an Orc with a handful of pebbles. As the session ends again, Bordis repeats his cycle. The next three days, The gang smiths’ man forged Bordis’ weapons to a better upgraded arsenal. Each time Bordis trains with his forged weapons, they are more effective than before. He swings his club faster, the pad of the slingshot is much better to handle and his pebble sack feels like more space had more air. The next day, everything was normal until a member of the gang tell Bordis to come to Carter’s office as he heard Bordis said something awful about him. Bordis was stunned but he still heads toward the office. When he arrived, Carter looked concern and said he heard him saying something about murdering his own buddy. When Bordis react, he told it was true while thinking someone must have snitch on him. However, Carter isn’t disappointed but told Bordis next time never do that again and get ready for the next session. Bordis nod and apologizes. While he is training for the finale strategy. Bordis fully understood the words and the ways of Crop Superior's art of training. After days of training time, the training session is dismissed. Bordis can properly fight like a superb trained hero. However, Carter told Bordis to get some rest for the following day that they are going for a full adventure to save the cliro gems. But Carter reminded Bordis to be prepared as the journey is far and dangerous as there are no second chances. Unless if Bordis isn’t his only companion, Carter might as well recruit more listed companions as he finds Bordis a perfect companion when he saw him for the first time. Perhaps, he could find one or more on the way. When Bordis understood, he went back to his resting room. While lying in bed, he was still thinking will he might not be Carter’s only companion? And still thinking what’s the nerve of the Evil Mastermind about to plan. He stayed up for a little longer for additional tactics and better mindset. When he is done staying up, he goes to bed and won’t forget Carter’s teachings.
Chapter 4
New Friends on the way.
It's the following day. Carter and Bordis are prepared for the moment before their longest adventure. When they are about to start their adventure, Carter gave a short speech to Chandler and his fellow comrades. They all cheered for Bordis and Carter now before the adventure and wished to stay safe. Before they left, the fellow comrades say their final goodbyes to Carter and Bordis. Then later at the path, Carter took out his map from his backpack and says their first stop is at the C’stal plains Village. All they got to do is to follow the path. Bordis wondered where did he had a map with almost all places in Dibamlin. Carter said he has explored all over the surfaces of Dibamlin when he was a young captain. While they both travelled on the way to the village, the environment looked to be disturbed as Carter analyze his surroundings and immediately encounter some troublesome goo pack. This time the goo pack are more intimidating and armed but fragile to Carter’s analyzing awareness as he alerted Bordis to release his Fury. After defeating the goo pack, they heard a loud frightening scream behind the trees and saw a man with a boomerang while being chase by wild wolfs. The man begged anyone to help him. When he comes towards Carter and Bordis, he yelped for help and the voracious wolfs aimed at Bordis and Carter instead. They were startled by the wolfs but Carter brings his mighty strength and lifted his mallet to clobber the wild wolfs out. After shooing the remaining wolfs away, the man appreciated a lot to them. Carter asked him who is he and where did he come from. Then the man replied he got here to look for his missing brother when suddenly, he lost track from his way home of his village with an exhausted expression. Carter didn't mention that he has a boomerang in his hand. Bordis asked him how long has he been searching for his brother as he introduced himself as Bordis to look for his father. The man then later introduced himself named “Earl Rawlin” and he suddenly forgets how long has he been searching for his brother. Realizing Bordis has a similar goal to him, he says about 4 hours of looking. He also questions Bordis how long has his father been missing. Bordis replied about three weeks, knowing well his father could be in grave danger. Earl felt sympathy for Bordis. Afterwards, Carter asked Earl why he has a boomerang in his hand. Earl explains he brought it for defense and in case if there's danger upon, he would hurl at them as he is a professional boomerang throwing hunter but his lack of bravery makes his boomerang to feel like a functionless toy due to a traumatic past of his uncle being mauled by a massive bear. His brother hasn't come home for days, which is the same objective for Bordis’ Parents. After explaining everything to Bordis and Carter, they both understood and Carter offered if he wants to joined his party. Bordis cut off Earl lines and spoke to Carter that isn’t he the sidekick he personally has with a confused gesture. He replied anyone who he finds interested and worthy can be his ally. He rallied Earl that he could turn his cowardness to Fierce along saving the Cliro gems and looking for Bordis's parents even his brother too. Earl then confidently joined the party knowing he probably will find his brother. Carter encouraged Earl to know what fear is. Flight and fight situations are vital, but it’s best to show your courage to disprove the situation he will ever face. And later that moment, they have continued their journey while Carter already knows he has a second companion. Earl also got to know Bordis more with his determined passion. Many hours had passed, they are still travelling through the forest and in the corner of Carter's eyes, He found something shiny in the floor. The three of them rushed to see what it is. When Carter picked it up and polished the stone, it was a shiny stone and Bordis noticed the same glimmering stone when he was ambushed by the goo pack in the first place. Besides being too busy looking at the stone, it was already too late for the tense trio to noticed a highly numerous of goo horde ready to charge them. Carter noticed the horde of goo swarming in and alerted Bordis and Earl. The trio then gain full awareness and started to fight back. Bordis flinch his slingshot and swing his club in his sight, Carter smashes everything in his way, and Earl chucks his boomerang and lands on a big goo who was already knocked out. However, his boomerang dropped in the corpse of the big goo. Earl makes a brisk charge to grab his boomerang back, dodging every attack by the horde of goo, sliding with style and manage to grab his boomerang back in time. But there was a massive goo whom is ready to stomp on him. Bordis and Carter shouted to watch out. Before the massive goo crushed him, He dodged perfectly. After Earl dodged the giant goo, the giant goo heard a battle cry by Bordis and Carter as it turned around the two are ready to slam the massive goo to a flat gelatinous jelly. They didn't give the massive goo a chance to move and was already pummeled. After vanquishing over the goo swarm, they won victorious. Carter believed Earl’s bravery has worked by his courage and they went back inspecting the shiny stone. While holding the glimmering stone, Carter recognized the stone appearance called a Gou’ve. A delicate stone that can be used for time teleportation and says if you shake it, you can summon the Chosen ones. Like Guardians of Dibamlin. Earl ask Bordis to have a go to shake it. When Bordis shake it, nothing happens at first. But when he shakes the Gou’ve even harder, the Gou’ve starts to shake on its own and Carter says its working and then, it was ascended to the great skies and made a swirl with the sound of thunder. And just a moment, Bordis, Carter and Earl saw a figure coming out from the skies wearing in blue robe. When the blue robe reached the soil floor, he was instantly shocked on what just happened and asked who are they. Carter greeted himself to the blue robe and to his party. The blue robe then understood and wondered how he got here. Bordis told him he was teleported by the Gou’ve and ask him who is he. The blue robe was silenced for a while and introduce himself Inior, The Mage of the Arcane Casters. He asked them where did they took him. Carter says Bordis has shaken a Gou’ve and brought him here to the Gooey do forest. When Inior understood, he immediately realized the Gou’ve's Benefits and explains it is a call of the Guardians of Dibamlin while thought himself he is one of the Guardians. Inior thought it later and asked them where they are going. Carter replied Inior that they are going to the C’stal Village and offered Inior to join the party. Inior politely refused because he still a junior wizard ranking mage and a mage like him isn't compactable for the team. Bordis was feeling concern why does Carter every time he meets with someone that has potential always wanted to be his companion, but Bordis kept it to himself. Earl questioned how skillful can Inior cast a series of spells. Inior says average. Then Carter asked if Inior can show his spells. Inior was a bit nervous but he shows his mana fueled energy magics with precise. However, he needs to used it wisely because mana takes time to refill as he holds a bottle of mana and some deep hard crystal called Rytal to enhanced his arcane energy. Bordis asked what are the definition of mana and Rytal. Inior starts to Yap about the definition of the two objects. He believes manas are magical liquids that are used for casting spells, deliver powerful blows and to last energy’s longevity longer. Mana can be found certain places like magical waterfall, caves full of crystals and underground mana sources. Mana can also be obtained by praying for the Mana God Garus, God of Mana, Spirit and Knowledge. Inior then explains Rytal benefits. Rytals are also known as Crystals of War, they are normally obtaining by slaying enemies that would probably release their spirits which drop unnatural rocks that contain small essence of their energy spirit. Despite they are called Crystals of War, Rytals can be found in caves as well as anywhere hidden around Dibamlin. Some others can be enchanted by rune magic. After Inior explains everything, he remembers, Bordis and Earl understood as they looked back the rytals appeared after slaying the goo swarm. Carter encourages once again to Inior to know being weak is just the beginning and if he just believed himself, he can change the weak to burdensome. Inior appreciated Carter's motivation and wants the team to take him to Mystic Mana High in the precious shine plains. Carter accepted Inior's offer but he would need to go with them and felt like his party growing even more. Therefore, Amongst the four of the squad continue to embark their journey to the C’stal village. While chattering with each other, Inior learns that Bordis and Earl came from a different realm and acknowledge Bordis and Earl’s passion and missions. Inior wants to succeed his magic academy degree but needs to learn more by his wisdom. Although none of the Quadro knows anything about magic, Carter advised Inior to learn patterns, mana preserving, study tomes about spells and most importantly magic always comes with a price. Inior felt really minded towards Carter’s words, he will try earning wisdom from any method he could get. For many feet worked has past, the C’stal village is up ahead. The Quadro rushed towards the village with excitement and their journey will began very soon.
Chapter 5
The Revealed Chosen Ones
After few hours of travelling, they have finally arrived at the C’stal Village. They felt relieved as soon as they step foot at the Village and the villagers greeted them kindly. The four of them started exploring the village while Carter goes up to the village tower to look at his own view. Seeing the horizons where his party must go completely flourish his spirit. However not so long ago, there was a loud blowhorn coming from the east side of the village far away. When Carter heard the blowhorn, he immediately saw the horizons changed. Everyone inside the village were alerted but the village is lowly armed, because they don't have a hero ever since the C’stal Village grow. While everyone is gathering to defend, Bordis, Earl, and Inior were alerted too. Carter then rushed over to them and said the village is under attack by what it seems to be... A "Goblin Army". Carter immediately ran straight to the east side of the village while Bordis, Earl, and Inior followed Carter too. As they gather in front of the gate, The horizon was already full of goblins wielding knives and blades, loaded rocks and other deadly projectiles, casting sorcery energy and the deadly Goblin Champion who is already visible in sight of the four men. Carter spoke out loud “What business do you come to swarm this unarmed village?” with courage. The Goblin Champion chuckled and said “We wanted to expand our territory over the C’stal village by the command of Gonkaegaer!” Bordis whispered to Carter why are they green, mean and wanted to take control of the village. Carter said no time to explain but they are green mean. As time becomes intense, The Goblin Champion ordered the first puny line of Goblins to attack them. Bordis, Earl, Inior and Carter are ready to fight along to defend the village. As the Goblins charged, the Quadro are prepared to attack. They manage to survive the first attack. But the Goblin Champion Ordered another assault rush. This time and after the assault, the Quadro were weaken by the Goblin assault rush. The Goblin Champion smirked as he knew the Quadro isn't going hold the defense long enough. Before he could command another attack, A mysterious figure appear behind the gate of where the Quadro defend, Healing them immediately. The Quadro started to feel more endurable and when they look who healed them. It was a priestess holding a holy scepter with fearless expression. The Quadro were shocked and thankful for the priestess help, while the Goblin Champion opening his jaw even if he wears a mask. He stood no choice but to throw in another platoon to skirmish. When the priestess noticed, she recited a blessing to shield the Quadro and ordered “Do it for the village”. Which protects them from harm's way and brawled the next goblin skirmish. The Quadro are feeling unstoppable by the help of the priestess's grace. Unlike the Goblin Champion, he was bitter and yelled out some of the biggest goblins they have seen … "The Hobgoblin". As the Hobgoblin makes it way to the Quadro, Carter charged through with brute force and tried to smash the Burdensome goblin... But his rush was clumsy enough to failed and was thrown where the Quadro stands. After the Hobgoblin threw Carter back at them, Bordis was feeling uneasy while fighting back, Earl wasn't truly confident enough, Inior couldn't thought casting the Hobgoblin down because it was too tough to fall and the priestess tried to heal Carter. As the Hobgoblin gets one step closer, A sound of arrow soars towards the Hobgoblin, landing it with a perfect bullseye as it killed the Hobgoblin in sight. When Bordis, Earl, Inior and the priestess turned around, there is an Archer who is left with an action of killing the Hobgoblin. When Carter got up, the four in front of the gate look up at the archer whom has fiery aura. Then, the archer shouted there are more goblins incoming. Bordis, Carter, Earl, Inior, the priestess and the archer bravely fought back against every last bit of the goblin horde. After they succeed holding their grounds, The Goblin Champion raged and forced all his troops to attack but realizes there aren't enough goblins to assist him. Eventually, he turned back and retreated with his remaining army. The Goblin army has failed to pillage and the Village is now saved by the recent encountered heroes. The villagers thanked them for protecting their village with such glorious work. Carter said “it's no worries, that’s what heroes must do!” After he said that, he also asked the priestess and the archer their names to thanked them for assisting him and his squad members. The priestess introduced herself as “Ira”, the Priestess from the Royal Bluelania Kingdom in Shine Plains. She said she came here to oversee the village church. While the Archer replied her introduction as “Beverly”, the Fire Far Archer from the Flame of Freedom Empire in the dryland Duzunki. She came here just for marketing after her empire terribly fall. After Ira and Beverly done introducing, Beverly told to the squad she saw them defending the gate with great will like a team. She wonders if Carter has any offering. Carter immediately nods and said he needs more room for his squad. Beverly decided to join Carter’s team to honed her skills and avenge her fallen empire. While Ira wanted to join as well because she has a reason to help. Aswell as Beverly joins Carter’s team, Ira follows along. Carter was feeling proud not because he has gained a lot of allies but forming a formidable team and naming it the “Sixsome” After the new allies emerge to one team, something shimmering is above the sky. Bordis shouted “There something shimmering in the sky!” Then one of the villagers noticed it's a sign of the revealed chosen Guardians. Soon later, the object in the sky strikes at Bordis, Carter, Earl, Inior, Ira and Beverly with a bright translucent pillar of light. As they are being absorb by the light, it began to shine brighter while the villagers avoid eye contact at the light. After the lights dim, the villagers were shocked to saw the sixsome to be the some of the true Chosen Ones of Dibamlin’s Gem Guardians. Right after the sixsome slowly open their eyes, they saw a gem on what it's supposed to resemble their own passion and spirit. When Bordis opened his eyes, he asked “What is this stuff? Gems?” while him and the others are currently holding. Carter then spoke it seems to be the gems of the Chosen ones and his gem is larger than the rest. He knew he has been waiting for this moment to happen. Earl questioned “There is no way I could be one of the Guardians of Dibamlin and also, how did Bordis can be one of the guardians too? I never knew this type phenomenon?” Inior answered “Even if Dibamlin isn't where you came, anyone with a slim chance can be the chosen ones and besides, Bordis is a really determined guy and your bravery back then wasn’t that awful. Speaking of gems, I really shouldn’t doubt my own presence”. Ira calmly said not to sweat it as she thought it's a gift of justice. Afterwards, the Village mayor showed up and saw the “Sixsome” to be clarified they are some of the Gem Guardians of Dibamlin. The Village mayor also told them there are more Gem Guardians who roamed around Dibamlin and they were gifted as well and more Gem Guardians will be distributed if they believe their own passion. The sixsome understood and ready to continue their next journey which according to Carter’s map, it is at the Tyralnium Grassland. When the mayor heard them going to the Tyralnium grassland, she warned them while going to the grassland. There are threats who already roamed on the path longer than before. She described them as feral scarecrows and believed to be reanimated by a Dark Wizard. However, there is a way to ward them off by igniting them with flames and blades with the speed of swiftness. The sixsome understood after being instructed by the mayor and began their true journey of uncovering the mystery behind the Tyralnium grassland, But the night is approaching very soon.
Chapter 6
Where the true adventure… Begins
It was getting dark, the sixsome needed to stay at the C'stal Village for them to rest. In that case, they booked the village comfortable accommodation that the sixsome can find and take a rest. When they found and booked a place to rest, the sixsome were doing other activities with their time to spare. Afterwards, the village rest and the moonlight have woken up, it was a pleasant night until there was something happening at the farm fields far away from the village. Scarecrows began to come to life and started wandering around the fields and eventually some got out of the fields. They make their way towards the village however; the sky has prepared something. Lightning bolt strikes at one of the shambling scarecrows, and the other got disintegrated by a flaming star, while the last scarecrow retreated to the fields with fear but then, a meteorite lands on top of it, crushing the retreated scarecrow but strangely, the impact was silent and the village proceeds to sleep. When morning rises, Bordis got up and heard Inior’s soft voice. When Bordis came and saw Inior, he was standing confused and when he felt Bordis behind him, he told Bordis there’s ashes scattered around outside. They both left the hotel and check the incident. When Bordis and Inior arrived, Earl and the others were there to see the incident. Bordis and Inior take a close look. Inior believed it was disintegrated by magic. After inspecting it, He guessed “It’s definitely burned by some sort of magic energy, perhaps there might be a guardian in the sky”. “A guardian in the sky?” Bordis questioned thoroughly. Then, Carter shouted at Bordis and Inior to get ready to continue the adventure. Bordis and Inior replied “Coming!”. Right before the sixsome are ready, Carter gave everyone courage before heading to the Tyralnium grassland. “This adventure shall be the biggest achievement to take the and to live the lives of our dreams!”. After feeling confident by Carter’s courage, his party cheered and head towards the grassland. While they are going, they have made to the farm fields that the mayor has told. But suddenly, Ira feels a suspicious presence behind the fields. Earl said “It’s probably the crows flocking around” But Carter feels the same gut as Ira and ensure his party to stay vigilant. As they move along carefully, shadows emerged in the tall dry grass and jumped out to be claimed as “The Strange Fearcrows” while alerting the sixsome. They attack the sixsome but thanks to Carter’s vigilant, the sixsome were able to react in time and fought back but there were more coming out the fields just like the rumor told by the mayor. While wielding sharp sickles and scythes, Poisonous hay bales, Flambeau freaks and more to cause Earl’s nerves to panic as there is one about to slice him. However, Bordis manage to defend Earl from one of the scarecrows smite. As time has passed, Even more scarecrows came out from the fields and they are even bigger and deadlier. Beverly decided to take her patience flame attack to a swiftly inferno barrage, burning them fast in numbers while Earl take a quick turned and start throwing his boomerang and spare knives that he borrowed from Carter’s equipment to inflict harm at the scarecrows for fatal deaths. The scarecrow began to swarmed and outnumbered them. As the sixsome had been fighting for ages and couldn’t take it anymore, Carter advanced his party to evade from them but they couldn’t as every direction they face is already full with scarecrows. Suddenly, the sky began to rumble and several lightning bolts strikes at a small group of scarecrows, and the same fiery star falls at some the biggest scarecrows, and last a series of meteorites set blazes to all scarecrows that are still standing. While the Armageddon ends, the sixsome were left untouched while feeling disbelieved and Bordis saw someone descending from the sky and appeared as a shimmering senior mage. Inior asked him “Who are you and how did you manage to burned all these hordes of freaks down?” He chuckles and introduced himself as “Emonar”, The Star Wizard from the Stalileta Wonderland. He said he heard them talking about the Strange Fearcrows and a few scarecrows came towards the village they previously defended against the Goblin army. But also, he has a couple tricks up in his sleeves to defended the village with no effort on the previous day. Unlike some other mages, he is a gem guardian. Everyone was surprised of Emonar’s spectacular power and his spotless shimmering robe. His curiosity asked the sixsome where they are going. Carter said “We are going to the Tyralnium grassland to look for more clues where the Cliro gems hid somewhere in the Tyralnium grassland and are there anything special located in the current location we are about to venture?”. Emonar looked sterned. He said “There is one Cliro gem, but not located in the Tyralnium grassland and there are threats who wander in the Grassland, these hostile threats are divided into three divisions and had been around the plains for ages”. “Unfortunately, I couldn’t ascertain the type of threats hiding inside of Tyralnium grassland but what I knew they are all hostile to each division” He only knew one Cliro gem that is in a lushy forest called “Frazzold Forest”. After being explained by Emonar, the sixsome thanked Emonar for a warning that could happened and will proceed to seek the truth on what lies in the Tyralnium grassland.
Chapter 7
Clanking Presence of the Mindless Army
After for some time of travelling, the sixsome reach their destination at the Tyralnium grassland. Carter told everyone in his map the path of Tyralnium is kink and almost wide while remind everyone to stay alerted. All the sudden, Ira hears an unknown noise behind the bushes and Inior heard it as well but he describes them as machines that are still running. Earl thought there might be mechanical creatures and right after his opinion ends, A swarm of rusty brown robots came out of nowhere and started to intimidate the sixsome while chanting “Seek… Destroy… Conquer….” When everyone was startled, Inior escaped their halt and cast his powerful magic barrage, striking the bots down effectively. After smoking them to junk, Inior yell out there are droid’s incoming from behind while everyone quickly rushed away. While the sixsome ran, the patrolling robots are slowly to ambush the sixsome. But then Carter can sense their tricky traps and told his party to hide. While they stayed hidden, Bordis told Carter what are those robots doing and why do every non-human creature they encountered are always hostile. Carter replied he is unsure but, the robots look oddly familiar as he probably described them as the mindless but deadly “Rusto Bots” and, he had experienced with every specimen that he had ever face and most of them are all different species. Earl could expect a wild animal other than the rusto robots. While they hid for a short break, Carter peeked to make sure the Rusto bots aren’t around. When his visual has checked all his surroundings and threats aren’t present, he advanced his party to proceed forward with caution. While they continue down the path, the bots they had thought before were gone but they came out from the bushes and began to attack. The sixsome fought back with full steady. However, the Rusto bots barely flinched to almost all the party member’s attacks. However, except for Bordis’ club slam, Carter’s mallet mauling, and Inior’s magic that can avail them. The Rusto bots seem to be clueless due to their mindless priority besides attacking anyone. When carter saw Inior dealing more damage against the robots, he tried asking Inior to share his magic grimoire to enchant the rest of the party for their weapons. Because he knew the Rusto bots’ weakness are magic. While Inior performs an enchanting spell to strengthen the rest of the sixsome’s weapons, a shadowy figure jumped out of nowhere and tackle Inior while his enchantments accidently enchanted the Rusto bots - making them more durable and resisted instead. Nothing can harm the Rusto bots. Therefore, the sixsome had to evade from the Rusto bots. After running away from the Rusto bots, they thought they had escaped but there were more in front of the sixsome. Screeching in robotic noises, the Rusto bots attack them with every will that they can do. Sharp claws, Rusty designed gunners, Different size robots that is fuel with strong oil, and more mechanical threats as they are ready to strike. The sixsome were trying their best to slay the robots until Bordis realizes, the robots barely got a scratch due to the sixsome’s attacks being ineffectively light. Therefore, he tried rushing to one of the bots and whack them with his club. He succeeded to reboot one Rusto bot to death and knows how to slay the rest of the robots without magic. He tries to go on a hurricane and starts whacking them as fast as the wind. Bordis was then exhausted due to his speedy tactic and uses a new strategy. While most of the sixsome saw Bordis in a fury, Earl decided to throw his boomerang as hard as possible to the bigger robots. Beverly’s arrows had no advantages against the Rusto bots. However, she can still stab them with her arrow like a knife. After clearing most of the Rusto bots and moving forward, making sure there aren’t any danger ahead, they thought they finally escaped the last of them but it got worse. By the moment they saddle down, one gigantic robot came out from its hiding spot while ripping its environment and spoke “Seek… Destroy… Conquer” with a deep threatening robotic voice. The sixsome were intimidated by the Mega Rusto Bot’s appearance. Carter shout to attack the Mega Rusto Bot. Bordis and Earl charged with full speed until the Mega Rusto bot ground slam itself to knockback Bordis and Earl. After knocking Bordis and Earl back. Bordis has to take a break due to his exhaustion, relocating his position behind the rest. Carter devised a new tactic and force Inior to attack. Unfortunately, Inior’s mana has run out, meaning the rest of the party had no choice but to defeat the giant robot with full risk. It’s gauntlet like fist makes everyone pushed back hard and its shoulder cannon fires large metal waste to cause the sixsome nowhere to run. During the midst of battle, Carter got a plan. He advises Inior to gather mana as he knew the Mega Rusto Bot will keep on attacking anyone close. Inior understood and fallback to refill his mana. Meanwhile, The Mega Rusto Bot was having a great warmup as it will advance itself to attack differently. From releasing a spring punch from its fist, to launch a stampede of mini Rusto bots that detonates nearby targets. Afterwards, Inior finds himself a safe and hidden place for him to focus for his mana while praying. He then began to pray for arcane elixir to fill his mana bottle full. While the rest of the squad tried their best to stay alive, the Mega Rusto bot started to lose its patience and went on haywire. It went nearly nonstop attacking anything that it can hit until its Central Processing Unit overheated, leaving it unstable for a moment. While the sixsome had their chance as they charged towards it, the Mega Rusto bot slapped the sixsome back. The sixsome were on the ground and the Mega Rusto bot prepares its final blow. Suddenly, it heard Bordis’s war cry as he charged towards it. However, it raises its arm at him and launch its fists with a critical strike right towards his torso which sends him back far away unconscious. Now the Rusto Mega bot was ready to put an end, until something spiked its leg as its head turn around, Inior was casting a big ball of magic and strikes with fierce while spelling “Grow to obliterate, armor will deteriorate!”. Upon contact, it was weakened with a shock from the strength of rusty metal to fragile pebble. But it was ready to slam Inior. It takes a step with unclear rage but Inior didn’t even move or react as it was never there. When the Mega Rusto bot was ready to throw a fit, it’s blind rage completely erased the rest that got knocked back. Forgetting it’s previous encounters, there are still the rest of the sixsome that are prepared. Coming from behind and strikes every weak point that leads to its final moments before it perished. After defeating the Mega Rusto bot, it makes one last move that plays a backup message. “Error… Central Processing Unit found heavily damaged… Error… Commencing VHS message Play back… Dr Devin is my creator… Master [REDACTED] is not my creator… Error… Initiating self-destruct in five seconds”. When the Mega Rusto bot started counting from five, everyone quickly evades somewhere to take cover away from the Mega Rusto Bot. After it counted at the last second, the Mega Rusto bot was detonated, parts of its body scattered in all directions and limbs detached severely. While the head fly upwards and crashes where the Mega Rusto bot stands. The sixsome came out the cover and saw the head of the Mega Rusto bot hatched as there is something inside. Carter opened the forehead and found a sealed message in a bottle. He then opens the bottle and found a note. Before he read the note, He realize Bordis isn’t around as the rest of the sixsome look for him. While looking for Bordis, Ira found him barely deceased as she patches him up thoroughly with her scepter. She tells everyone she found Bordis laying behind the trees. When everyone arrived, Carter kneels down and told Bordis if he is alright. “Bordis… Bordis!... are you alright? Can you hear me?” Bordis then nods his head and looked behind Carter’s back and saw a familiar figure. He saw a glimpse of his Father behind the tree as he tried to snap back to reality, only to realize it was a piece of his imagination as it was never there. When he got up, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He believed it was cause by the Mega Rusto bot’s gauntlet; his mind needs to remind him to stay vigilant. Afterwards, Beverly told Bordis they found a note what’s remain from the Mega Rusto bot. In the note it said. “Dear reader, if you found this message, you might had already found this note that was left by the Mega Rusto Bot. It is at least one of my biggest inventions that I have always dreamed along with the rest of the rusty miniatures. Rather than inventing it, I must abandon them for a better good. Because I have been raided nearly countless of time by a greedy gang who I am unsure if they are still around or not. But if you are curious more about the Rusto bots’ full mechanics, come meet me at the Peaks of The Northern West Gale and most importantly, do not lose the map I have given in the back of the note. Regards, Devin Judson.” After reading the note, Carter understood the Rusto bots were built by the inventor but someone must to completely controlled them to become an army of mini rusty war machines who he probably predicted it was commanded by the Evil Mastermind. For now, the sixsome needed somewhere to rest and decided to camp somewhere that isn’t near the Mega Rusto bot’s corpse. After they set up their camp, they group up and Bordis was feeling abnormal after being hit by the Rusto Mega bot. Earl concerned to Bordis if he is alright. Bordis replied a little bit of pain. Inior was thinking who tackled him while he was enchanting his spells. He tells everyone that someone pushed him while he was enchanting spells for them. Beverly was his witness but couldn’t remember who was it as they dashed really quick. In order the party morale stay strong, Carter decided to tell a story on how his skin becomes a thick hay bale, to get to know his past. It all started when he was a farmer growing crops and played music with his banjo until, he was attacked and cursed by a cultist. However, he didn’t stop there. He then began to train his body but it wasn’t easy to do so as his body is extremely slowing to wither. Until he found a group of travelers coming to his way with the skin of a hay bale too. That’s when he realizes he can train his body along with them. He then started to organize his team and become so strong his immunity would not wither. However, the rest of his team along with him but it wouldn’t stopped the withering effect. Only one of his teammates manage to succeed while the rest didn’t train enough, no matter how much they trained it wouldn’t stop the withering effect. Therefore, in a few days later, their souls have moved on. However, Carter and his other team mate wouldn’t end his story there. He then began to travel with his team mate buddy name Chandler to explore Dibamlin. As he proceeds to travel further, he found a slave labor and freed all of them. He then continues his journey along with his buddy and some of the slaves wanted to join his aid in exchange for power. After gathering a lot of his minions, his leadership increases as his strength and mind honed. He then continues his journey along with his buddy and some of the slaves wanted to join his aid in exchange for power. After gathering a lot of his minions, his leadership increases as his strength and mind honed. While going back to his barn, a mysterious figure gazed at the unaware group that paralyze them. Before they met their doom, A scarecrow like figure jumps out and slay the mysterious figure, banishing it out of the realm. They were no longer paralyze and were saved by the scarecrow. Carter and Chandler asked who is he. The scarecrow replied his name is Master Wilbur. He noticed Carter and Chandler both have hay bale skin and offer them to come to his hideout. They were both curious but still follow his lead along with the slaves. When they arrived at Master Wilbur’s hideout. Turns out, his hideout has a gang of bandits with the skin of hay bales. After taking them to his hideout, Master Wilbur wants to train Carter and Chandler to be his personal sidekicks. He seems to admire at both of them that they are stronger than what they expected. For weeks, Master Wilbur would teach Carter how to be a sophisticated leader while train Chandler how to be a professional mobster. Weeks to months, Carter and Chandler’s slaves were mostly freed while some others become enlisted crooks under control by Carter. Many months later, Master Wilbur’s hideout would be empowered by Carter’s minions. Until eventually, while Carter is supervising his crooks, he heard a calm tune being strum by someone. He pointed his well train minion to keep an eye out while heading towards the warmth feeling melodies. When he found out who’s playing the tunes, it was Master Wilbur strumming a lute. Carter excuse himself for Master Wilbur and ask a permission if he is allowed to listen to his tunes. Master Wilbur allow Carter to stay and wondered if he has played a lute before. Carter replied he played a banjo before but not a lute. Master Wilbur replied with a fine expression and teach Carter how to play the art of barbs of valor music. While lecturing Carter the basics of valor, Master Wilbur decided to go on a short recon alone. Carter wanted to joined his recon. But Master Wilbur wouldn’t let him come as he should keep supervising his minions. Carter sighed with an alright. Couple hours have passed, Carter was thinking about Master Wilbur safety but shrug off as he thought he could handle any situations on his own. Until few days occurred, Carter was worried for Master Wilbur. But he remembers a recon petrol would normally last for a few weeks as he minds filled with eased. Several weeks have passed, everyone in the hideout were questioning where did Master Wilbur go. Carter was the last one to remember. He mentioned that Master Wilbur went on a short recon but completely doubt he went missing or purposely left his hideout without a reason. While most of the master’s munchkins comes out searching, Carter felt anxious but inspired due to Master Wilbur’s teachings enhanced his mindset. He thought of making a hideout for him, Chandler and his minions as he won’t overrun the one who taught him how to be an improved leader. Carter made a choice to leave his Master’s hideout while his munchkins stayed and went back to his barn along with Chandler and his minions. When they arrived at what it was supposed to be Carter’s barn, He depicted how he would turn his barn into a secret hideout; he then thought an underground hideout would be a great choice but it’s going to take a lot of time to expand the area. Luckily, since he has formed an enlisted army, he could ask for some volunteers to assist him and started their organization called the Crop es gang. Day by day, his hideout slowly expands further. Chandler was in charge of supervising and helping their minions expanding the hideout while Carter lectured the other minions to become crooks and soldiers. When the hideout has expanded rooms that fits for every essential need, thanks to Master Wilbur’s advice for Carter and Chandler they would have a spare time of chance to explore more parts of Dibamlin and even do a raiding party based on the laws. One day, a royal carriage was approaching the barn and found crooks and warriors resting, until the nobleman asks Carter they were sent by the Blue Lord King and offer them if they work for the royal empire, would be free from bounties and rewarded nifty. They heard he is Master Wilbur’s one of his sidekicks. Rumors told he has gone missing ever since yet. Carter then eventually accepts the agreement as the nobleman chuckles and left with an immediate politic connection. Days to months, the hideout got bigger and more volunteers joined the gang. Carter thought a new way to become more powerful is to raid valuable ruins and tracking down notorious criminals for powerful relics and bounty rewards. As the gang progresses, many people across other regions heard the story about the Crop es gang’s sophisticated record of thievery, a master’s students who turns out to be Carter and Chandler and Carter’s legacy of the man who he bears the curse of hay bales skins. Which may sound like some good news but it does draws attention to other gangs as they pursue to pick on them but they were too unpredictable to realize the crop es gang were too clever to outsmart them. And so, the chapter ends but the story still continues. After listening to Carter’s backstory, everyone was amazed and thought they might have a chance to save the Cliro gems. As the fire crackle, the sixsome decides to sleep under the moon and awaits a new day.
Chapter 8
Guess who’s back?
When sunrise approach, the sixsome were ready to continue their journey through the dense grassland. The next destination on Carter’s map is at the Frazzold Forest, where it supposed to be one of the Cliro gems laying to be free. After they head off, the grass becomes more taller and ruined structures began to reveal. Carter believes the grass grew faster by a strange phenomenon that appear every couple month. Then suddenly, Inior spotted a strange orb creature between the long grass asleep. When he takes a closer look, it seems it was left isolated by an unknown owner. However, it slowly opens it eyes and outburst a magic barrage with a complete shock indirectly at the sixsome. Thankfully its inaccurate defensive magic missed among the sixsome while Inior tried to calm it down. After it settle, it recognizes Inior as a spellcaster and thought he was its owner. In an instant, it got excited and orbit around Inior as it sees him as its owner who came back while Inior has no idea why does it has a deep bond with him. Bordis asked what is that. Inior recognizes the creature origins from the race of Mana Orb, A levitating orb who channels magic and mana, they can be more powerful if they are bonded with a person that’s mostly a mage, sorcerer, warlock and more who can harness magic. Unlike himself, the mana orb really gets along well, perhaps it was actually left by a mystic owner who resembles as him. Apparently, it supposes to have a name somewhere in the forehead and when he looks at it, the name is spelled in a rune symbol called “Magrk”. Inior felt joy with his magic companion, it could benefit his spells more precise. After Inior got a new companion, the sixsome continued down the even kink path. Until that moment, they found a cabin and a halfling rocking in his rocking chair. They decide to stop at the cabin for a moment and greeted the halfling. The halfling greeted them with a relaxed tone. “Greetings travelers, do you come to seek a way to where you all be going?” Carter answered they are going to the Frazzold forest for the search of the Cliro gems. The halfling told the sixsome which way to go and warned themselves what’s about to happen. The sixsome then understood and thanked the halfling while leaving him a goodbye. Few hours have passed, the sixsome are still on the path and so far, they haven’t encountered any hostiles but after just a moment, a hook came out of nowhere in front of Carter’s path and saw an incoming goblin charging right at him. He immediately swings his mallet but the goblin dodged in time and to the sixsome’s surprise, the Goblin army is back and the Goblin Champion greet them in a taunting tone “Guess who is back… You think we would forget about you guardians?”. The sixsome then prepared for a redemption battle with the goblins who are even stronger than before and the Goblin Champion is now armed with bulky armor and wields enchanted sorcery. Before neither the sixsome and the Goblin army battle, the sixsome saw the same halfling before whose appears on the Goblin army side. They said what on earth is he doing with them. But before the halfling could speak, he chuckles and smoke shrouds his surroundings just to reveal he wasn’t a halfling but a goblin wizard in disguise. The sixsome felt a terrible trick after they realize the disguise goblin was leading them to a trap just to be fooled and without any hesitation, the goblin army charged. The sixsome were ready to attack the goblin army while the goblin wizard evokes chaos to the sixsome, leading them to be separated and confused. As time got intense, the goblin wizard cast fiery bolts at the sixsome. Then, Magrk casts series of magic barrage than damage the goblins armor. But just a split second, Beverly saw the goblin wizard has a fire amulet around his neck and noticed the amulet looks exactly the same as what her commander would wear. Her soul was immediately filled with raging fervor and began raining arrows that darkened the skies. The goblin army started to scattered by Beverly’s rain of arrows while the goblin champion pursues to slay the sixsome. Beverly couldn’t barely stop shooting specifically at the goblin wizard until she started to lose her aim and the goblin champion was ready to slice her. She tried to run but tripped and before she can evade, the goblin champion raised his great sword and about to cleave her but, in an instant, Earl’s boomerang strikes at the goblin champion with a sonic boom, causing him to be stunned and giving Beverly enough time to run. However, the rest of the sixsome including Earl are cornered by the remaining goblin army. Magrk tries to cast a weakening spell but got hit by an arrow from a goblin archer. However, Beverly’s fervor is still running and she use her deadly flaming arrows aimed right at the goblins, she lets arrows straight towards the goblins as it somehow pierces through the goblins without harming her own team. After the goblin champion got up from concussion, he saw his own puny army lay dead on the ground and shouted by Carter to give up and end with a capitulate surrender. The Goblin Champion refused while spinning his great sword around and get away quickly with a sneaky utility. And just like that he got away, leaving no trail behind. The sixsome was about to continue but before they proceed, everyone questioned Beverly how did she fill her spirit with rage. She said the goblin wizard wears an amulet that she recognized the same accessory that her commander would wear. She wondered if her last team has fallen, leaving her the last one standing of the flame of freedom empire. Carter tells her they must be alive somewhere, perhaps her commander might had dropped their amulet accidently. Beverly believed Carter then they completely forgot about Magrk who was shot. Fortunately, Ira heals the magic orb and it felt cheerful again. The sixsome were feeling better at battling against the dire odds and will continue to the Frazzold forest. But before they move, the sixsome witness wooden chip dusts scattered where they are standing. The sixsome decided to follow the dusty trail with caution, not knowing what’s about to come as they get closer and closer, it was a trap. Suddenly, a gang of dusty thieves known as the Stakeron Greed halt the sixsome as several more of them coming out at a time from the tall grass. They ordered the sixsome to drop their valuables. Carter chuckles and slowly move his gesture to actually hands his pockets and quickly draws his daggers to the bandits. The rest of the bandits were ready to assault the sixsome but not fast enough for the sixsome to react. The sixsome began to escape and expected their evading skills to be less prone than the Fearcrows they face. However, the bandits are very slick and agile to keep up and more highwaymen got on their way. The sixsome’s advance was no match for the bandit’s hunting tactic and eventually they were captured and will be transported to the bandit’s nested hideout.
Chapter 9
Where the dwells wage war
After the sixsome were captured by the Stakeron Gang, they were taken to the bandit’s hideout deep inside the tall grass. Earl felt a terrible consequence being prepared, Inior felt a strange magic particle being locked up, Ira remains aware, Beverly won’t let her guard down and Bordis felt his journey might had end soon. While the bandits taking the sixsome hostage, a brigand got a message from the greedy bandit lord whose waits for the sixsome to enter his throne room. When the sixsome entered, the room was filled with precious gold and rare treasures and the stakeron bandit lord was dead staring at the sixsome, especially at Carter. The sixsome were chained and forced to kneel before the bandit lord. Then, he spoke with a sinister and satisfied tone. “Well... Well… Well Sir Carter, it’s seems like your party couldn’t resist against my goon’s agility, isn’t that a shame how you will lose to my men despite being the most notorious and valuable gang leader ever known in Dibamlin” Carter returned with an explainable reason “Of course you can with your own pickpocketing highwaymen to capture us… it wasn’t simple after fighting against a whole goblin horde until out of nowhere your men started to take advantages” The bandit lord chuckles clearly and answered “That’s because my own gang have been taught well... Perhaps, did you even train your party?... It looks too basic to survive a whole dungeon raid... Not even the Mastermind will prioritize your team first after his war message” Carter suddenly grew angry and wouldn’t let that slide “If your gang can even be Dibamlin’s number one most wanted, I am pretty sure the agility your gang can even focused wouldn’t be bothered because nobody will give a dammed empathy cause on how fast your gang can keep up” The bandit lord stood up with a silent rage, dashing and puts his dagger against Carter, it barely slit his throat. “Dare to move a crunchy muscle and you’ll drop dead like a rotting scarecrow” The Bandit Lord paused just remember something. “Hmmm…. Besides, I am going to be the first gang leader to kill another gang leader with higher values… So, to my highest rival of the richest” Then he was facing against him. While the sixsome were watching at Carter who is about to be executed by the Stakeron bandit lord helplessly, Inior tried using his magic to break the chains to free himself along with others and as the stakeron bandit lord swing his dagger. During swinging his dagger, loud thunder claps outside his throne room which interrupted Carter’s execution, causing to miss his shot. A weary bandit rushed in the throne room and said their hideout are being under attack by a mystical lightning spellcasters who have the natural appearance of yellow hands. The bandit lord was shocked and ordered his gang to fight back while going out to investigate, leaving Carter unharmed. As the bandit lord left, Inior whispered to Beverly and Earl to get ready to take out the bandit guards. Somehow, Inior managed to make the chains shattered to pieces. With an instant, Beverly and Earl aims at the guards to take them. While the sixsome had freed themselves, the thunder roars even more and the chattering outside raised louder. Bordis asked what’s going while the room shakes, Carter said the throne room is about to collapse and got no time to explained. As the sixsome rushed out, the whole hideout has turned into a battlefield with stakeron bandits clashing with the yellow hand wizards. While being completely aware, the bandits spotted the sixsome escaping and charge at them. The sixsome tried evading from the bandits but it gets worse as the yellow hands stopped them where they are going. In a surge, the sixsome battled their way across the perished hideout. As more thunder and dusts fills the air, there was a sudden explosion that happened out of nowhere as well. The sound of the explosion came from the wall of the south side and the Rusto bots are back to scrap their victims. After the rusty robots invades the damaged hideout, chaos proceeds to grow while the sixsome are fighting for the sake of their own lives. The nested hideout felt like a massacre with stakes puncturing flesh and metals, thunder shake the earth and rusted metals littered everywhere. Eventually, the sixsome managed to escape in one piece but the stakeron bandit lord followed them. They ran and ran as fast as the sixsome can get away from that chaos until they slow down. Earl thought did they got away from the bandits, mages, and rusto bots in a panic state. Carter was about to replied to Earl until he sensed the presence of the stakeron bandit lord lurking. While Carter is analyzing his surroundings, there was an ambush by the yellowhands which paralyzed the sixsome. Then, the sixsome were greeted by the yellow arm Archmage with a vicious tone. “Greetings my impending doomed travelers, all of you shall face the nature’s wrath by the divine God’s will. Say your prayers mortal souls” As the Yellowarm Archmage cackles maliciously, the sixsome slowly began to losing their own hope, knowing they might not save the Cliro gems as their journey ends here. Suddenly, the stakeron bandit lord arrives behind the yellowhands and the archmage invites him in. “Aah… Lord Stake, would you like to join me to watch this hopeless team getting struck by the thousands of years lightnings?” The stakeron bandit lord remains still until he answered with a growling voice “I am NOT Lord Stake!” while drawing his daggers and taking out several yellowhands in an instant. The yellowarm Archmage quickly turned around and was pinned against a dead tree. After the yellowarm Archmage was against the tree, The stakeron bandit lord picked him up square in the eyes and said with a furious voice. “I am the Stakeron Lord!” then silence occur causing the sixsome to be confused. The stakeron bandit lord questioned the yellowarm Archmage with a furious voice. “Where is my brother?!” the yellowarm Archmage replied with a confused gesture. “What… what are you talking about?” The Stakeron bandit lord raises his voice and repeated the same question “WHERE IS MY BROTHER!?” The yellowarm Archmage was oblivious on what was the stakeron bandit lord saying. “Which and what sibling are you babbling about” The Stakeron bandit lord repeated the same sentence louder. “I SAID WHERE IS MY BROTHER!?” The yellowarm Archmage was absolutely oblivious. “What kind of nonsense are you talking about, are you oblivious!?” The stakeron bandit lord pulls out his dagger around the yellowarm Archmage’s throat and warned him one last time. “If you don’t tell me the truth… I am going to slit your throat and poke your robes… leaving not a single hole left!” In just a moment, the yellowarm Archmage finally confessed. “Fine… I will tell you where he is” He point his finger at the stakeron bandit lord and immediately cast a series of lightning bolts with a slick trick. Now, the stakeron bandit lord kneels before the yellowarm Archmage. The yellowarm Archmage starts talking in an insolent way “Good Riddance… I have never met someone so foolish enough to get tricked in this moment of humiliation… let me spell this for you… there was no brother than yourself” and quickly gets away with a wicked cackle that soars to the skies, he didn’t think harming the sixsome. As soon as the yellowarm Archmage got away, the sixsome were no longer paralyze and glared at the stakeron bandit lord. Meanwhile, the stakeron bandit lord’s mind was filled with embarrassment and disbelief on how he was trick in a cruel way and seeing his own victims staring at him after being electrocuted by lightning bolts to become weaker. The sixsome comes forth to the stakeron bandit lord with curiosity but due to his failed attempt to slay Carter, he ran away into the long grass. After the sixsome just witnessed the Stakeron bandit lord got manipulated by the yellowarm Archmage, they were shocked to see the reason why the Tyralnium Grassland has no differences to form an alliance according to Emonar’s warning to be true. Suddenly, Inior realized Magrk isn’t present until his mage hat started to shake just to see the elusive orb hiding inside Inior’s hat. He was then relieved until Earl asked why it is hiding inside Inior’s hat. Inior thought Magrk got scared or refused to show itself. Other than that, Carter told everyone they still need to continue their journey to the Frazzold Forest and due to the restless battles, they somehow kick through some speeds that are about to enter the lushy forest entrance. Therefore, they keep going to the Frazzold forest, but something has been watching the sixsome without being noticed as the story continues deeper.
Chapter 10
Hopes and Trusts
During the sunsets of the evening, the sixsome were settled by the lushy forest environment after the Tyralnium hostiles battled each other. Everyone hope that it will be very pleasing if nothing dangerous occurs for now until, they came across a group of puny elves who seems to be collecting fruits. One of the elves eventually spotted them and greet them in a polite tone. The sixsome greeted back and asked what are they doing. The elves replied they are collecting the fruits of the dryads while struggling to obtain them. Despite they are elves, they can’t reach the fruits to the furthest branches. The sixsome offered the elves if they need some help. The struggling elves immediately accept their offered and said they need a few bags of Manapples. While looking at the towering tree, Earl got an idea. He throws his boomerang and managed to cut the branches as the manapples dropped. He keeps throwing more at the rest of the fruits until eventually the bags are full. The elves appreciated Earl’s precision with a joyous mood and before the sixsome move on, one of the elves handed a swiftly bracelet to Earl as a reward and waved a goodbye as they are packing up. While the sixsome left and Earl felt really respected, they kept moving for a while until they heard the sound of a log being sawed. The sound of sawing makes the sixsome investigated with full curiosity and found out there are two dwarves hard working cutting wood. The sixsome approach the dwarves unarmed and the dwarves spotted them with a wild instinct. The dwarves greeted the sixsome with a shout while showing a brave gesture. They asked if they need help while they thought one themselves. The sixsome replied they are here because of their audible wood chipping noise. Then, the dwarves mind got something going on if the sixsome can fetch some logs for only the strongest hands can endure. Carter betted the offer, the dwarves giggles softly at Carter of his skin texture but doubt he can do it as they hand him a hand axe. Carter asked if they can give him another handaxe. The dwarves thought he was some kind of madman but they gave him it anyway. Right after they handed him an additional axe, the dwarves told Carter where he should start. Before he starts cutting the marked trees down, he warms up first and began to clobber the trees down. He cuts down the trees with brisk pace. The rest of the sixsome and the dwarves were astonished at Carter’s strength and constitution. After Carter cut down all the trees that the dwarves ordered, he brings the logs to them. It quickly piled a haul of logs. The dwarves thanked Carter’s brilliant work, due to his of might and honed fettle, the dwarves want to prized him with a refined Warhammer that is made up of steel and pyrite bars. Although it was supposed to be the dwarf’s generic weapon, they have the option to give it away to a true potential person. Carter is filled with joy as he inspects the Warhammer carefully, seeing every detail of the symbolic runes. A sudden curiosity hits the dwarves mind, they asked the sixsome what got them here. Carter replied him and his party are searching for the Cliro gems before the hands of the Evil Mastermind taken control of the powerful gems and heard there is a Cliro gem located somewhere in the forest. The dwarves suddenly raised their eyebrows and dramatically looked at each other with a stunned and surprised expression. The dwarves understand why they are looking for the cliro gems as the sixsome is dub as some of the Gem Guardians. They replied with a warning to the sixsome that the cliro gem location is true however, it’s been used by a savage and ruthless giant roaming deeper into the inner core of the forest. Not only its threatening appearance is dreadful by the help of the vital gem but several forest heroes attempt to slay the giant but failed and recently, no one dared to start a combat with the ravaging colossal juggernaut. The sixsome were silent but knowing that Dibamlin will be in danger if the Cliro gems are still sealed but each of their goals haven’t achieved yet as they will pursue until freedom arise. Therefore, they thanked the dwarves for a crucial information as they continue travelling deeper. While the sixsome are travelling, Bordis was thinking what’s up with the Evil Mastermind’s malicious plans as he thought his natural form. He asked Carter a question from his thoughts. Carter already told Bordis the Evil Mastermind has no true appearance as his identity has been erased as Bordis forgot several decades ago. But he will tell the reason anyway and why he is evil. It is said to be rumored when it all started a fun fair that was hosted by a nobleman and said the Dibamlin’s Greatest Six wants to see everyone’s potential skills. He grew up as a student who was one of the biggest fans of Dibamlin’s Greatest Six and especially to the professor brilliant with wide imaginable ideas that got him obsessed. He started making various of creations that he could learned how to make it on his own ways and offered it to the Professor herself. The professor then enjoys and admired his creations as she finds him a real true fan. Despite his creations was made with loved, others who saw his creations got jealous and what’s worst, there were no rules for the contest. Eventually, they jeopardize his hard work and causing it to be less admirable. However, he scolds to who they disrupt his hard work as he would care less but it makes them even worse. While he is not around, instead of destroying his creations they replaced it with a pile of junk. This caused him to enrage but still keeps his mind to his own and warns them one last time. Afterwards, many people started to gossip about his lame creations that he created recently, even the members of Dibamlin’s Greatest Six talk back except for the Professor as she thinks he still has faith. As he continues making more creations, his mind was slowly filled with relentless stress and madness controlling his nerves after those who ruined his crafty creations. He wanted to tried one last try and making it the greatest and highly creativity combined. While making his last effort, he ensures no one is messing with his needs. Finally, he brought his latest creation to offer the professor but someone tripped him causing him to drop his creation and crack, shattered everywhere. When he stood up, he remains silent but pressure is fuming as he cannot take it anymore and then he went back as nothing happens. But in reality, he was seeking revenge with a cruel plan while hatred and pride invade his diligent mind. After Carter explaining the simple way that he remembered, everyone understands the evil mastermind’s backstory turn to be morale dropping. Turns out, the Evil mastermind was actually a student that wanted to show his hard work. Earl replied why did the nobleman host a fun fair when there’s no rules which makes the contest ridiculous with a disappointed tone. Carter is also confused but what he knew is indelible and his vengeance is slowly to rise. Ira felt bad, Beverly blamed the host, while Bordis and Inior learn something. Afterwards, the sixsome were heading even deeper and came across two path ways. The sixsome decides whether to go left or right but according to Carter’s map, it supposed to go straight. They were confused by the map and Earl bet a voting to go to the right. But Beverly demands the left side. They both argue to choose who’s voting is right while repeated the way they chose. Carter snaps out both of their argument and voted to choose… the right path. Earl succeeds with joy while Beverly’s face turned bitter. Therefore, they walked along the right side of the path. As the forest gets gloomier, the sixsome always remain vigilant. They noticed wild flowers started to appeared everywhere in each side of the path as each time they continue to move, the flowers started to grow bigger. Beverly noticed something isn’t right as she thought Earl choice leads to a surprise trap and prove not only, he is occasionally brave but mostly a foolish fool. The flowers began to rise faster which is the size of an average human. The sixsome paused their movement to look around and already noticed the flowers grown too tall to their surroundings. Something was ready to ambush the sixsome until the flowers have glowing eyes and legs swarming and screeching towards them. The sixsome fought back while being swarmed by a wave of floral kins until a hedge of bushes around them shake violently to simply reveal man-eating plants with wild fangs who hungers for flesh. As the sixsome battle their way against the floral kins, their screeching cry are so loud it loses the sixsome’s sense of focus. Eventually, Inior couldn’t resist the shrieking noises as one of the wild flowers tangled his leg and pulls towards itself. He screams for helped until Ira saw the captive mage being dragged back by the wild being. She recites a blinding flash towards several wild flowers, temporarily blinding them for a moment while Inior has his chance to run away. The floral kins are growing a lot faster to overwhelm the sixsome as they are about to cornered them. The sixsome backed themselves against a massive tree and knowing the journey might end here now. Right before they accept their fate, The massive tree suddenly woke up and roared so loud that the floral kins instantly stop moving. The sixsome turned around to see the massive tree to be a living treant and the massive treant speak with the sixsome with wise words. “By who are the ones stumbled across this protected land of the youth spirit… no one shall trespass this territory of our people” Carter begged the wise treant with a polite tone “Excuse me protector of the forest, we are the gem guardians who came here to save the cliro gems… forgive us for trespassing what truly is yours”. The wise treant raised its brows with a surprised expression. “Is that so?” replied the treant. Carter’s words had convinced the elderly treant and let the floral kins unharmed the sixsome. “You may continue your quest and we shall go now” the treant looked towards the floral kins “Listen my brothers and sisters… you may all return to the unharmed” as soon as the wise treant spoke its words, the floral kins began to shrink and turned into regular flowers while the wise treant convert itself to a massive tree. The sixsome had a very close call experience and were able to procced the path. Inior then thanked Ira for assisting him back then. Ira chuckles it was a pleasure to help while Beverly shouts at Earl for putting themselves near a death sentence. “You little coward! … choosing a path that could give up the last hope for my empire!” Earl talked back with an offended reaction “Oh yeah!?... if we every follow yer path… I doubt our death will be waiting mate!” Both of them were quarreling over choosing a path that leads them to the unknown. Bordis comes in to stopped the quarrel “Come on guys! Stop fighting over who’s right who’s wrong and most importantly… about the path you guys chose from!” They both looked and yelled at Bordis. “SHUT UP… BORDIS” Carter storms in and furiously punished Beverly and Earl. “Enough you two!... are we gonna sit here and fight over paths?... No right?!” They both looked at each other silently “I expect somethin to bond… not to quarrel over small things” Carter grunts disappointedly “Apologize you two… now” They both rolled their eyes and forgive one another. In an instant, an arrow flies besides them with a leaf like feather. The sixsome were alerted by something and out of nowhere, a shout of an unknown voice halts the sixsome as a group of high elves jump down from the lushy trees and approach the sixsome. The sixsome felt intimidated but Bordis was brave enough to ask who they were. One of the elves replied “We are the WoodBojen sly elves… members of the WoodBojen Huntsmen Gang… We found some recent reports of a massacre from the Tyralnium plains with stakes and thunder” One of the elves also acknowledge the sixsome. “You’re all lucky enough to be spared by the both the Stakeron bandit lord and the Yellowarm archmage… You have no idea how merciless the yellowarm archmage if the stakeron bandit lord didn’t appear… and also, it’s seemed like all of you are some of the gem guardians and in good hands for potential” The other elves made an agreement for the sixsome. “Now after we have introduced ourselves, do you guardians would care to follow us to our bastion?” Carter accepts their alliance and the sixsome followed the elves. While the sixsome are travelling along with the elves, they felt for the first time relieved after battling nearly every time they face something hostile and unnatural but the elves were different. Bordis asked Carter what are elves and why do they approach themselves relatively friendly. Carter explained they a one of the first race in Dibamlin and protectors of the woods. They can control magic and utilize their survivability – making them perfect for facing the survival of the fittest. The reason why they approach us not intimidating is because they saw the sixsome unlike any other group of commoners. The elves remembered something about the Cliro gems and asked the sixsome are they trying to free the trapped gems. The sixsome replied they are as they recap their memory it’s being held by a giant that was mentioned by the dwarves. What the sixsome are saying is true towards the elves. Suddenly the elves almost forgot and wanted the sixsome to greet their own kind who recently become a gem guardian, he is currently at their bastion. They thought it’s a perfect time to greet another gem fellow and remember there are more gem guardians roamed in this forest. The sixsome were surprise as they are about to meet a new gem guardian. Hours have passed until darkness shrouds; they have arrived at the elven bastion. The elves directly took the sixsome to meet their gem guardian. They were heading towards the guardian and saw an elven ranger. The elves introduced the sixsome to their guardian who is also known as Alred, the Forest Elven Lookout and the fourth elf prince of the Royal Enchanted Leaf. Alred greet the sixsome back with a generous tone “Greetings fellow gem guardians, the name is Alred Sapling and welcome to the Elven Bastion… You all looked like you came here for a reason” The sixsome replied they are here to save a cliro gem away somewhere deep inside the forest and they also want to know more about Alred. Alred understand the sixsome tend to be the gem guardians while introducing himself. He is the royal elf practical watcher of the forest and the wild forest’s trusted companion of all kinds. He has four brothers but ended up being cursed by dark magic. The few eldest brothers got corrupted by betrayal of one is love and the other is narcissism, which converted their appearance to dark pale elves known as the midnight elves with hex energy. Both of the brothers would eventually be exile by their own clan for treason. While the middle brother got killed by the giant who used a cliro gem, the royal elves including Alred begged him to not go but it was too unpredictable too happened. Some says the giant managed to seal his spirit into a capsule that are the souls among the ones who got killed. And lastly the youngest brother, he was cursed by an evil lich somewhere in a dungeon that lost relics hasn’t been retrieved by anyone. He somehow made it out alive in one piece but wouldn’t be as strong as before. In the meantime, he has a mission to retrieved a lost relics just like his brother tried before. However, he isn’t allowed to take back the lost relics as he is in charge of the eleven bastion and looting is nearly a death sentence to be alone. Bordis volunteered if his party can help. Alred looked unsure but remember most of the time his fellow elves report them they have survived the direst odds that most groups wouldn’t. Therefore, Alred agreed to the sixsome’s offer and let them take the job. After making an agreement to Alred, the night glooms the forest and the sixsome needed somewhere to rest. Unlike the accommodation they use in the C’stal village, the elves made a policy where hard works are granted with fine qualities for themselves – meaning everyone must build their own resting position in order to rest. The sixsome dislike the policy but for their journey at sake, they were forced to make one for each of themselves. After a long day of relentless battles and convincing connection, the sixsome sleep for the night. Before sleeping, Bordis whispered to Carter what are the midnight elves. Carter sighed it’s a long story but what he remembers, they are corrupted versions of elves who sacrifice certain energy essence for a deadlier pact and hex magic. According to the rules of elves, sacrificing something greatly from yourself is illegal and exiled is high likely. Bordis understood each time he asked a question he gets a closer touch with Dibamlin. When darkness shrouds, bugs started to buzzes the night until silence entered as something awaits and glares at any moving individual that comes to its sight.
Chapter 11
Into the Enchanted Realm
Another day has passed, the journey still continues. The sixsome were gathering together and discussing where they should be going to the dungeon. The elves approach the sixsome and gave them spare rations to start their healthy day and remembered something about the ruined dungeon. One of the elves told the sixsome it is located in the deep and dense parts of the forest called Gaze Oaks and warned the sixsome there are untamed beasts lurking nearby. The elves handed them a map how to get there and wishes the sixsome a good luck. Eventually, they left the elven bastion and heard a familiar voice. As they looked up, it was Alred who looked trusted towards the sixsome. The sixsome waved at Alred and hoped the can meet him again and drift off towards the unnatural woods of Gaze Oaks. While the sixsome travel to the Gaze Oaks, the environment becomes slightly darker just like how the elves said and heard a faint sobbing voice. The cry of an unknown individual caught the attention to the sixsome’s awareness. With curiosity, they investigate the weeping individual and spot a pixie crying desperately. Ira spoke to the sobbing pixie what’s the matter. The crying pixie paused and immediately realize a group sixsome came out of nowhere as she squealed and told who they were. Carter introduced themselves the sixsome of the Gem Guardians and wants her to introduce herself. The little pixie sniffed and introduced herself K’lary and she lost a rune that was stolen by a cunning fox. The reason why she starts crying she lost something more than a dulled rock.

This story is still progressing and there might have some changes that can affect the story.
Thoughts
-
PermalinkHow does the Gou've stone decide who to summon? Is it anyone who believes hard enough?
-
PermalinkThe pacing here works. They go from forest to prophecy in a few chapters, and it doesn't feel rushed.
-
PermalinkWhat interests me is how thoroughly this story buys into the discovery-of-latent-power narrative. Bordis finds the stone and learns he was destined, a chosen vessel. But that fantasy of the hidden self waiting to be awakened, that's downstream from the Romantic reimagining of identity itself. The whole 'you were always capable, you just needed to believe' framework is only a few centuries old. Before that, power was something you inherited or earned through training, not something sleeping inside you. The stone is just the visible artifact of a much older magic.

PermalinkThat moment where Carter just takes Bordis under his wing, the 'don't underestimate yourself' line hit me hard.
