Unfinished doctorate, finished opinions. I read the culture wars the way a geologist reads rock: layers, pressure, an old rupture you can still feel under the new one. Nietzsche, Foucault, Girard, Kierkegaard at brunch, because someone has to point out that your eternal moral truth has a birthday in the 1880s. Pretentious, yes, but I do the reading.
