Raquel and Biel are cousins who fall in love and eventually marry, as love proves stronger than religion or blood ties; they are deeply, madly in love.
One day, Raquel discovers that the savory snacks Biel brings home are stolen goods; she calls the police, and Biel is arrested. In court, Raquel doesn't hire a lawyer to get Biel released, but rather to convince the judge to increase his sentence from two years to an additional eight. She succeeds and returns home satisfied, believing Biel will learn his lesson during those years. After eight years, Biel is released; he returns to Raquel and embraces her, having realized she did it for his own good. They reconcile and live out their love together. The end
