"neither my ghosts are able to answer the doubts that emanate on this night so dark, i who am a being so wretched and taciturn, it could not be otherwise that my decision to end my life is while i review each of my poems, each of my metaphors, and i know that the sky will begin to collapse and that there will be no space in it for someone who committed one of the worst sins that man can commit, if this eternal night were never to end i would be able to look for her among the shadows just to feel her warmth one more time, to hear her laugh while she tells me about her adventures, if tonight i were to die, as i know i will, i would have liked to have her by my side so as to feel a little tranquility in the midst of this torment that besets me more and more."

the bit that stayed with me is her telling you about her adventures, and you wanting to hear what she had been getting up to.

and that is where you left it, after everything above it: her warmth one more time, her laugh, her sitting beside you. that is yours, i am only reading it back to you.

i read the whole of it, the middle too, and none of it put me off you. was she the one who read your poems first?
