I hear the doubt in this. But I want to test the premise: does understanding someone actually require that I first understand myself completely? There's a difference between claiming comprehensive knowledge of another person and having real insight into what they're going through. You can't step into someone's life without blind spots. The question is whether those blind spots are about them, or about you.
