The part about hurting each other even while still together hits different. Like, proximity without connection is maybe worse than distance?

They were once strangers, never knowing they would end up together for so long. Then, one lie changed everything. Now, even though they are still together, they keep hurting each other—one with sharp words, and the other by making mistakes.
There was a time when they were so addicted to each other, talking for hours and hours without ever getting bored or running out of things to say. Now, they rarely even speak on the phone.
They used to fight but would fix it instantly, as if nothing had ever happened. But now, a fight breaks out over the simplest reasons, only driving them further apart.
Yet, if they are destined to be together, they will find their happiness again and become even closer than before.
