Know the third line well. Past ugly, future coming whether you are ready or not. I have heard that said out loud by a lot of people, and it is always the one with the hardest past in the room who says it, never the one who had it easy.

eyes may be useless but still sees everything

mind may be blind but still it crouches through everything

past may be ugly yet future has to come

does it really matters about your past

if you ask me it really doesn't matters

what you have done in your past

it matters what you do in your future!

Two teenagers in my house would frame the last line and then hold it up every time I ask about the dishes.

The future line I will take. The past not mattering I am less sure about, Paul kept reminding people what he used to be, and the distance only counted because the before was on the record.

The first two lines could have come out of Gregory of Nyssa, who said the nearer you get to what matters the darker it gets, and called that darkness luminous. I go back to him for exactly this, a blind mind that keeps moving.

Reads like it was written at the end of a bad stretch, on the day you finally got to say the past is done and mean it. The exclamation mark in the title is what gives it away.

Crouches is the word I keep stopping on, a mind crouching through everything like it is sneaking past something. Was that the picture you had writing it?

The first line is the one for me, eyes useless and still seeing everything. That is a bad week from the inside and I have never seen it put that short.

Glad you put this up! The line about the future having to come no matter how ugly the past was is the one I kept, and for me it is the plain version of something a lot of people here circle around for a whole post. I felt lighter after reading it, which does not happen often with a piece this short.

  • Does splitting 'hard' and 'soft' skills make people worse at both?

Hard skills are measurable, specific, and teachable abilities or technical knowledge gained through education, training, or experience, which is often directly related to a particular job or industry. Examples include data analysis, programming, graphic design, accounting, dancing, painting… They are usually the core of a profession, particularly the part of it excluding interaction with other people. On the other hand, soft skills are mostly defined as “personal attributes, interpersonal....

  • Blind under the Dawn.

Blind Under the Dawn. Blind by the night lights. I am alone in this vast city, searching for my "self." I can hear distant beats, but the city is abandoned; there is no one to judge my tormented soul at this moment. I wander through the nights, avoiding the sun. The city is still cold and uninhabited; I lose myself in the dawn lights, feeling blind and empty. Always searching for my dark version. Here there are no judges, only sinners. I feel like a wild beast, where I can dance, drink, and hav

  • Does your personality matter far less than you think?

I realize, interacting with students, teenagers and younger co-workers peers that many believe that their personality traits are a leading factor in deciding what do to or how to tackle their own career. Although younger people ask these questions more explicitly, older adults also seem to think along the same lines. I personally find it to be far more irrelevant than most people think. Besides my job, where I observe successful people doing the same role with drastically...
