The thing is, accepting your flaws and sitting with them feels very different from moving on. I wonder if the real change isn't about embracing the bad part, it's about deciding it doesn't define you anymore.

Embrace the shadows and just live in the present. Mistakes and successes are what keep us human. Remember who you are, and who you used to be. Change happens from within.

I like that you didn't make it sound easy. Because it's not, and I think that's the part everyone forgets.

This resonates when you've actually sat with your shadows for a while. The noticing-and-catching part? That's not abstract, you're literally rewiring an automatic response. It doesn't happen once and you're done. It's gradual: you catch the old pattern, choose different. Repeat. That's the actual work, not some philosophical shift.

Have you found this to be true in your own life, or is this something you're still working toward?

The accepting part is definitely the hard part though. Like intellectually I get it, but actually living it is a different thing. That gap between understanding and doing is where most people get stuck.

The 'change happens from within' part is real though. Can't rely on anything external to fix you so yeah.

The Yin and Yang framing makes sense but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to actually do it. Accepting the bad feels harder than just pretending it's not there.

Yeah, the realness here. You're not pretending it's a one-time thing and you're done. That's the difference.

When you say shadows, are you talking about like the parts of yourself you're not proud of, or more the unknown stuff about who you are?
