Gabriel and Glenda are best friends; Glenda is the leader of the bullies—the smartest and the strongest. One day, while walking through the mall, Gabriel tells Glenda he’s been feeling very tired. She asks, "Don't you feel strong, my dear friend?" Gabriel honestly replies, "No, why?" Glenda says, "I hardly ever feel tired; I'm strong, my friend." Gabriel is left deep in thought... The next day, he buys fake muscles to impress everyone, including Glenda. The bullies dislike Gabriel and suspect he's lying, since they are only friends with Glenda. Glenda signs Gabriel up for a live TV contest with an audience of 60 million people. When Gabriel finds out, he panics, fearing the worst—that everyone will realize his muscles are a fake. He stops, takes a deep breath, and tells himself, "The most important thing is believing I'm strong; I can do this." Glenda drops the anchor—which weighs 50 million tons—and says, "Your turn, my dear friend." Gabriel, full of confidence, lifts the anchor, but his fake muscles immediately burst. The bullies, the live audience of 60 million, and the TV viewers all jeer: "You blew it, loser! Liar! We love you, Glenda!" Glenda glares angrily 😡 at Gabriel, who forces a smile to cover his embarrassment. Back home, Glenda and Gabriel are sitting together on the sofa. Glenda makes Gabriel keep changing channels until he becomes strong like her and learns to be honest: Gabriel (holding the remote): "98, 99, 100... it's over 🥲" Glenda: "I want 500 more 😌" Gabriel: "It hurts 😔🥺 1, 2, 3..." Glenda: 😌 Gabriel can't take it anymore and collapses onto the floor with the remote, while Glenda happily dances in celebration of her victory—Gabriel has been defeated ✌️ The end...

PermalinkGlenda really decided this is not a friendship, it's a competition and also a coaching arc and apparently a live TV test.
-
PermalinkThat moment where Gabriel collapses with the remote and Glenda's celebrating her victory. This reads like you're naming something sharp: what strength becomes when it's really control, and how control wears friendship like a costume. Was this from something you lived through?

PermalinkThe visual of his fake muscles just exploding in front of 60 million people is the escalation this story absolutely needed.
