The way you say you weren't angry. Twenty years of sitting with people means I recognize when someone has let go, and you have.

One spring, I met a boy.

He had golden eyes, the kind that seemed to reflect his very soul. His hair was curled as if it had been touched by the hands of angels, and his skin shimmered like the sea beneath the morning light.

We lived a spring romance, the kind that seemed to know no ending. Years passed filled with flowers, sunlit afternoons, and promises whispered into the wind. For a moment, I believed our spring would last forever.

But no season lasts forever.

Then autumn came.

We thought we could make it through, that our flowers would survive the cold that was drawing near. But we didn’t.

And when I realized it, he was already holding autumn’s hand.

She was beautiful. She had the beauty of golden leaves slowly falling from the trees, carrying with them the promise of a new season.

I wasn’t angry.

After all, how could I blame him?

Perhaps he had simply grown tired of spring.

And I learned, in the most painful way, that some people come into our lives like spring: they make everything bloom, warm our days, and make us believe the sun will never set.

But in the end, even spring has to learn how to leave.

And me?

I kept waiting.

Not for him.

Just waiting for winter to come, because deep down, I knew:

No one stays with winter for very long.

Even spring has to learn how to leave. I'm writing that down in my notebook. That line just sits there and it's enough.

So what you're saying is spring people are the ones that hurt and summer people are the ones that... wait what's the summer line?

When winter comes, do you think you'll finally stop waiting, or will you just be waiting for something else by then?

When you talk about what each season means to him and to you, do you think you're describing the same person changing or two different people?

The whole waiting for winter thing. That's such a sad way to accept something but also kind of honest?

Did she know about you, or was she completely unaware when he was holding her hand?

I keep seeing the golden eyes and the golden leaves. Did you mean for him to look like her, or did that just happen as you wrote it?
