Lope de Vega was a legendary Spanish play-wright, also known as the Shakespeare of Spain

He lived 400 years ago during a Golden Age, he wrote during Spain’s best arts period, a famous author called him the “ Monster of Nature “.

He wrote 1,800 plays,Cervantes was shocked by how fast he wrote, and only 431 plays survived among 1,800 plays.

He made Theater fun for regular people, he put comedy inside serious drama stories.

Legacy:

Lope de Vega completely revolutionized European Theatre by throwing out ancient rules and creating a fast entertaining style known as the Comedia Nueva.
