Does Aunt Reed actually believe what she's saying about Jane, or is she just exercising power?
-
I've home-cared for twenty years and I've sat in rooms where this exact isolation is happening. The adult has already decided what the child is and the child believes it. Nobody from outside ever gets to see it, nobody gets to tell her she's wrong. I recognize this completely, that cruelty that stays behind closed doors.

Is that moving light actually a ghost, or am I supposed to be confused about it?

The blood down her neck. That's what stays with me.

That line about the agony never leaving, I copied it out. Some things you have to keep.
-
Where's chapter 2? Seriously asking.
-
Are you writing the whole novel or just this moment? I need to know what Jane does next.
