At the edge of a quiet village, beyond the last little house, there stood a beautiful cottage beside a sparkling lake. It was surrounded by roses, glowing lanterns, and an old stone pathway that seemed to disappear into the forest.
Everyone in the village called it The Moonlight Cottage.
No one knew who lived there.
One evening, a curious girl named Maya followed the glowing lanterns along the pathway. The sky was painted pink and purple, and a crescent moon appeared between the clouds.
When Maya reached the cottage, its windows suddenly lit up.
She slowly knocked on the wooden door.
Knock… knock…
The door opened by itself.
Inside, there was a small table with an old silver key lying on it. Beside the key was a note:
“When the moon touches the lake, follow the stars.”
Maya looked outside.
The moonlight had begun to shine across the lake, creating a silver path on the water.
Then something incredible happened.
Tiny golden lights rose from the lake and floated into the sky like stars. One by one, they formed a glowing trail toward the mountains.
Maya picked up the silver key and followed the lights.
At the end of the path, she discovered a small wooden bridge hidden among the trees. The key fit perfectly into a tiny lock on the bridge.
Click.
The bridge transformed into a beautiful walkway covered with glowing flowers.
Maya crossed it and discovered a secret village on the other side of the mountains. Its houses sparkled like stars, and everyone there seemed to be waiting for her.
An old woman smiled and said, “You finally came.”
“Who are you?” Maya asked.
“We are the keepers of forgotten dreams,” the woman replied. “Every person has a dream they once believed was impossible. We keep those dreams safe until someone is brave enough to find them again.”
The woman handed Maya a tiny glowing lantern.
“Your dream is waiting inside.”
Maya held the lantern close.
Inside, she saw memories of herself writing stories, imagining magical worlds, and believing that even ordinary places could hide extraordinary secrets.
She smiled.
The next morning, Maya woke up beside the lake.
The cottage was gone.
Only the old stone pathway remained.
In her hand was the silver key.
From that day onward, Maya became a storyteller. Every night, she wrote stories about impossible places, mysterious forests, and people who dared to follow their dreams.
And whenever the moon was full, the villagers noticed something strange.
A warm golden light appeared in the window of the cottage that wasn't supposed to exist.
Some say it was waiting for another dreamer.
Others say it was waiting for Maya to return.
But Maya knew the truth.
Somewhere between dreams and reality, the Moonlight Cottage was always there. 🌙✨
