The Brazil I Carry With Me
Whenever someone asks me about Brazil, I never know where to begin.
Should I talk about the music that seems to appear from nowhere on an ordinary afternoon? The smell of fresh coffee filling a quiet kitchen? The conversations that somehow become longer than planned?
I think the truth is simpler.
The Brazil I want to write about is the one I carry with me.
It's the country that lives in small moments: rain falling on red earth, neighbors greeting each other through the gate, recipes passed from one generation to another, and songs that can make people nostalgic even when they don't understand the words.
Like every country, Brazil has contradictions. It can be loud and peaceful, joyful and thoughtful, familiar and surprising—all at once. Maybe that's why I never stop discovering it.
I'm not here to be a tour guide.
I'm here to tell stories. Some will come from memories, others from traditions, curious details, forgotten places, or simple conversations that reveal something bigger about who we are.
If you're reading this from another part of the world, I hope these words become a small bridge between us.
Welcome to the Brazil I know.
Bem - vindo (this is welcome in Portuguese)
