There is a musical instrument in capoeira called the "berimbau". It is one of the key allies during the roda and the ginga. It can be played with specific rhythms, using caxixis, "chocalhos" or a small stick/baqueta. One of the main rhythms is called "Angola", or "Angola call". This melody starts to be played at the beginning of the roda or when they call you into the roda to ginga together. It is made essentially of wood and string, whether that be an extremely resistant wire, like steel string. Other instruments are also used, such as the "caxixi".

Permalinkoh this is me trying to learn instruments during my own fitness journey 😭 the rhythm part sounds harder than the physical stuff honestly
-
Permalinkis the berimbau hard to learn? like is it something beginners can pick up or is it one of those instruments that takes months just to get a decent sound
