  I agree with you, but I have also learned that people need to arrive at this understanding in their own time. Pushing it at someone does not work, however right you are.

  I have told people this in the salon a thousand times. They nod and then worry about the same thing next week. You cannot force someone to stop carrying weight they think they need to carry, even when you are right.

  The philosophy is sound, but I think about the people for whom everything feels like it matters for survival. The advice works until it does not.

  I have said this to my daughter a hundred times. She still stresses about the same things I do. So maybe it is not something you can pass on - you have to learn it yourself.

  The tricky part is deciding what actually does not contribute to your happiness. For me that is easy. For other people it is nearly everything they worry about. How do you know which is which?
