I am no genius;

the Joker... does not exist,

and I—like my heroes,

the people I admire—

am pathetic, at odds with a world

that cannot be destroyed,

and all my combative efforts

will turn to dust or mere spectacle...

Inhabit a corner that will not fit

even on the shores of any god's island.

I am alone.

And I speak a language

incomprehensible and unnecessary.

I will never have anyone in the world to talk to,

and to stay alive, I must cease to be who I am

or remain in a corner that allows

everything else that exists

to humiliate me,

simply because I exist.

    Reads like the corner is something the world keeps assigning, and the poem is half refusing to leave it. The useless language feels like the one this got written in.
