The refrain coming back word for word makes this read like a song. I can hear where the drums would drop out.

I'm tired
Can't feel happiness
Even sadness
Leaves me in constant loneliness
There's no light
To end this endless darkness
I must survive
My own mind
I must survive inside my own mind
Let me go blind
So I don't see how hard I've tried
Let me go deaf
So I don't hear my lies
Let me go mute
So I don't scream another truth
I'm lost inside
A life I can't recognize
Every breath I take
Feels like another mistake
I'm reaching for silence
In a world that won't let me rest
Trying to bury the pain
That keeps living inside my chest
There's no one to hear me
No one to understand
I'm drowning in the emptiness
With nothing left in my hands
Let me go blind
So I don't see how hard I've tried
Let me go deaf
So I don't hear my lies
Let me go mute
So I don't scream another truth

PermalinkThe chorus is the part I keep going back to, asking to go blind and deaf and mute so you don't have to see how hard you've tried. That line, how hard I've tried, is the one I copied into my notebook. It reads like something meant to be sung out loud, with that chorus coming round twice. Do you have a tune for it, or is it words only for now? Thank you for putting it up.

PermalinkBlind, then deaf, then mute, each ask giving up a little more. By the last one it's asking not to tell the truth anymore, and that's the line I keep going back to.
