I don't want to disappear.

I just want
a place
where my thoughts
don't feel so loud.

A place where
the clock doesn't chase me,
the world doesn't ask questions,
and tomorrow
doesn't feel like a warning.

So I close my eyes—

and for a moment,
I am somewhere else.

No expectations.
No pretending.
No noise.

Just me,
breathing
inside a world
I created myself.

But then I open my eyes.

Reality is still here.

And maybe
I was never meant
to escape it.

Maybe I only needed
a quiet place
to remember

that I can face it.

i get needing that moment where you're not expected to be anything or do anything. mine's just the night shift and the quiet, but i get what you're saying.

the part about no expectations, no pretending. that's exactly the kind of space i'd live in if i could. sounds like peace.

when you open your eyes at the end and realize you only needed the quiet place, is that actually how it feels, or more like you're hoping?

i recognised the part about needing a quiet place to remember you can face things. i hear that in my bones.

when you're in that world you created, what does it actually look like? is it a place you've been before, or something completely made up?

that thing about the clock chasing you. i guard my commute time the same way. nobody needs anything from me on the train, and i'll never give that up.

when you close your eyes and go somewhere else, does it get you away from the same pressures every time, or is it different things depending on the day?
