How much of preventing crime do you think has to come from the community side versus enforcement? Like, from what you see on the job?

Crime is a problem in many countries.
There are different crimes, such as robbery, violence and internet crimes.
I work as a police officer, so I think respecting the law is very important.
Laws help protect people and keep order.
I also think that education and jobs can help prevent crime.
Young people need good opportunities to study and work.
💭 My thought:
A safe society needs laws, education, respect and responsibility.

PermalinkComing from someone actually doing police work makes this feel different than theory. You're naming actual things, not abstracts.

PermalinkI lean toward agreeing that education helps, but idk if opportunity alone cuts it. Maybe it's specifically about respect for the law, not just having a job?

PermalinkReal question from someone who doesn't know the field - when you say internet crimes, are those usually trickier to prevent than the physical ones?

PermalinkThinking about this line: 'Young people need good opportunities to study and work.' That feels like the whole thing right there.
