I open the bedroom door and step inside. The room is empty, and the bed is still unmade. Without thinking too much about it, I start making the bed, looking for any distraction from the turmoil in my mind. Doubts are eating me alive. What if the potion really did transform him? What if all of this is my fault?
As I straighten the sheets, exhaustion washes over me. I lie down for a moment, just to rest my eyes, but sleep soon overtakes me.
Minutes—or perhaps hours—later, I feel something warm and soft brush against my lips. I open my eyes and freeze.
Victor is kissing me.
His face is so close to mine that I can feel his breath. His eyes, once cold and distant, now gaze at me with tenderness. I can't move, and on impulse, I kiss him back, letting myself get completely swept up in the moment.
When he pulls away, he whispers,
"I love you, Min-jae."
His words pierce my heart like a blade.
"Min-jae?" I ask, frustrated and confused.
"I'm sorry... Your name is Ariel. Ariel. I won't get it wrong again," Victor says awkwardly.
"Who is Min-jae?" I ask anxiously.
"My love," Victor answers affectionately. "It's just that you look so much like him."
"But I'm not him," I say, clearly irritated. "If you're going to kiss me while thinking about him, then don't kiss me at all."
"I have to admit, I was kissing you while thinking about him," Victor confesses, looking at me tenderly. "But now I have to admit that I've fallen in love with you."
"Oh my God..." I murmur, feeling my face turn red.
"You're the reincarnation of my love," Victor says, gently caressing my face.
"But what if I'm not Min-jae's reincarnation?" I ask nervously.
"You are. I can feel it. But if I ever find out you're not..." He pauses, a faint smile appearing on his lips. "I'll have to apologize to Min-jae, because I've already fallen in love with Ariel."
"You're so adorable..." I say dreamily, wrapping my arms around him.
Maybe this is the effect of the love potion. It has completely transformed him. The cold, cruel Victor seems to have disappeared.
"You're so much more than that..." Victor says before kissing me.
We begin kissing passionately. I can't believe I'm kissing Victor—the man as cold as ice—and now he's kissing me with so much passion. This means the spells in that book really do work.
"Victor!" his father exclaims in alarm as he opens the door and sees us.
We quickly pull apart.
"Good morning, sir," I say awkwardly.
"You two look like newlyweds," Victor's father comments, trying to hide his embarrassment.
"Father, I want to leave this place," Victor says, taking my hand.
"You hit your head. You need to undergo some tests," his father replies worriedly. "We still don't know how long you'll be like this."
"The doctor said only time will tell," Carlos adds.
I look at Victor and try to persuade him.
"Get the tests done, Victor. Then we'll go home."
He gently squeezes my hand.
"All right. If that's what you want, I'll do whatever they ask of me," he replies.

The doctor kept Victor in the hospital for another two days and ran all kinds of tests. Every result came back normal, which left him utterly baffled.
Victor had awakened with a new personality—that of a figure from the past who knew nothing about the modern world. It was as if someone had traveled through time and brought the crown prince into the future.
The morning had barely begun, and I was already in the car with Victor. He gazed out the window as if every little detail on the street were the most incredible thing he'd ever seen. His eyes sparkled. He looked like a child discovering the world for the very first time.
"Wow, this is amazing!" he exclaimed, taking in everything outside the car window.
When we arrived home, Victor began exploring the place with the curiosity of someone who had never been there before. He examined and touched every object, every detail of the decor, as if it were all completely new to him.
He spent the entire day exploring the house. He fiddled with the refrigerator, the stove, the microwave, and everything else he could get his hands on. Whenever he picked something up, he asked what it was called and what it was used for. His favorite thing turned out to be the television in the bedroom. He was completely fascinated when I turned it on.
We lay down on the bed and spent the day cuddled up together, watching a movie. I still can't believe I'm finally getting to experience moments like these with him as a couple.
"The future really is incredible," Victor says, gently stroking my hair as I rest my head against his chest.
The movie ends, and Victor starts looking at me in a way that makes me feel self-conscious.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask shyly.
"Because you're so cute... and I'm having a hard time holding myself back," Victor says before kissing me.
We start kissing again, and soon I feel his hands pulling me closer.
"Victor..." I say in surprise.
"Let's make love," he whispers before showering my neck with soft kisses.
My heart begins to race.
I can't believe it... Is this really happening?
In the blink of an eye, I realize we're already naked. I gaze at Victor's body. It's the first time I've seen him like this, completely undressed in front of me.
He doesn't waste any time, and soon we're making love.
At first, I feel a little discomfort, but gradually my body adjusts, and everything turns into an intense mixture of sensations and emotions.
When we finally finish, we lie in bed, breathless.
It was my first time.
And it was better than I'd ever imagined—every second, every touch, every sigh.

I open my eyes and realize I'm completely tangled up with Victor. His arms are wrapped tightly around me, holding me as if he's afraid I'll run away in the middle of the night. He's still fast asleep. I gently stroke him until he finally opens his eyes.
"You're finally awake," I say with a smile.
But something is wrong. Victor's eyes widen when he sees me.
"What the hell is this?" he shouts, jumping out of bed. He quickly covers himself when he realizes he's naked. "Why are you in my bedroom?"
Something is very wrong. Victor is speaking coldly again.
Oh, no... My cold, narcissistic husband is back.
"Don't you remember anything?" I ask anxiously.
"I only remember coming back from Korea," Victor says thoughtfully. "Now answer me: why am I naked? What did you do to me?"
"Which part? We did so many things last night..." I reply, getting out of bed and covering myself with the sheet.
"I want you out of my room," he says coldly. "You know you're not allowed in here."
"All right, then, darling," I say sarcastically as I leave the room.
Damn it... This can't be happening. He's back to being the same emotionless jerk as always. I want my crown prince back.
I go to my room and take a shower. As the water runs down my body, I wonder whether everything I experienced was just a dream... or a figment of my imagination.
I head downstairs and sit at the table.
"How is Mr. Victor doing?" the maid asks as she sets the coffee pot on the table. "Carlos told me he's been acting differently."
"It was temporary. He's back to being the same jerk as always," I reply in frustration, pouring coffee into my cup.
"Who are you calling a jerk?" Victor asks coldly as he walks into the kitchen.
"You're so cold..." I joke, wrapping my arms around myself. "I forgot to put on my hoodie."
"Good morning, sir," the maid greets him.
"Good morning," Victor replies, taking a seat at the table. "I'm confused... What happened to me? I checked the date, and... how the hell did I sleep for four days?" he asks, stunned.
"On Friday, you had an accident and hit your head. When you woke up, you had a different personality," I explain before taking a sip of coffee. "In your mind, you were the crown prince of Korea."
"Stop lying!" Victor retorts, incredulous.
"What he's saying is true," Victor's father confirms as he enters the kitchen.
"This has to be some kind of joke," Victor says, running a hand through his hair.
"It's not a joke. I saw how you were," his father replies, sitting down as well. "But I can see you've returned to normal now."
A moment later, Carlos arrives.
"Is this really true?" Victor asks him.
"Yes, sir. You developed another personality."
Victor says nothing. He simply stares at his coffee cup for a few seconds. Then he gives me that familiar cold look—there isn't a trace of my adorable prince left.
"I'm going to the company," Victor says, getting to his feet. "When I get back, we're going to talk, Ariel."
He gives me one last look before leaving. Carlos follows him a moment later.
"I'm still here, you brat!" Victor's father calls out irritably.
"Bye, Dad," Victor replies without looking back as he walks away.
He probably wants to talk about the passionate night we had. Actually... the night I had with the... To be honest, I don't even know the prince's name.
Victor has no idea what happened yesterday.
And just thinking about it makes my cheeks burn.
