Being alone : Lonliness or Soltiude?

ThinkTank

Post content

I necessarily don't have any opinion on it but i want to know your perspective or take about it. Why does being alone is more so aligned with lonliness than solitude. Why does being alone drives people crazy or make them anxious? Why can't being alone be the reason for a person's growth and confidence?

I've observed this is also one of the reasons why people chase relationships because they are scared to be alone. What is so scary about it? Shouldn't living alone be the most comfortable thing out there? You living on your own terms with your own schedule and freedom?

This post is not to target social people or relationships itself. It's just to ask why being alone is seen so negatively or affects people negatively. Like i want to understand from your perspective about it. Does being a single life (as in an individual with a life) is so burdensome or heavy on oneself that it almost pushes you to seek connections? Is it really that serious if someone is single for almost a big chunk of their life that they have failed in living their life to the fullest? Because nowadays everything boils down to either relationship issues or lonliness. Or is it just virtual hype around these topics but in reality people are just chilling.

I liked that you asked it straight, why alone gets filed under loneliness.

My read is that most people fear being seen alone, at family dinners or when friends pair off, more than the quiet itself.
