Emma was known as the cheerful girl in her class.

She laughed loudly, helped her friends with homework, and always had something funny to say. From the outside, her life looked perfect.

But lately, Emma had started feeling different.

She was tired even after sleeping. Things she once enjoyed didn't feel as exciting anymore. Schoolwork seemed harder, and small problems stayed in her mind for hours. She often wondered why she couldn't simply be happy like everyone else.

Whenever someone asked, “Are you okay?” she smiled and said, “Of course!”

She was afraid that if she told the truth, people would think she was being dramatic.

One rainy afternoon, Emma stayed behind in the classroom. Her best friend, Riya, noticed.

“You don't seem like yourself lately,” Riya said gently.

Emma looked down at her notebook.

“I don't really know what's wrong with me,” she whispered.

Riya didn't tell her to cheer up. She didn't say that other people had bigger problems.

Instead, she said, “You don't have to figure it out alone.”

For the first time in weeks, Maya felt understood.

With Riya's encouragement, Emma spoke to her parents and a trusted teacher. They helped her talk to a counselor who explained that feeling this way didn't make her weak or strange.

Getting better wasn't instant.

Some days were still difficult. But Emma slowly learned to talk about her feelings instead of hiding them. She began taking things one day at a time and discovered that asking for help was actually a sign of courage.

Months later, Emma was laughing with Riya during lunch.

Her smile looked the same.

But this time, she wasn't using it to hide.

She had finally learned something important:

You don't have to pretend you're okay to deserve love, friendship, and support.🌸
